I know the running joke is James Jones has been to 6 straight finals and the fact that he has 3 rings but its amazing to look at all the great teams he"s been on. One amazing thing about James Jones other than the 6 straight finals is he"s been on 3 DIFFERENT 60 win teams (04 Pacers, 07 Suns, 13 Heat). The worst finish a James Jones team had was the 08 Blazers that finished 41-41 and it was the only time in his career a team he was on missed the playoffs. James Jones has also played 140 playoff games.

I know you"re joking but the injuries in the 2011 season to key role players is what cost Miami the 2011 finals. Mike Miller, Udonis Haslem, and James Jones all were dealing with injuries. The Mavs 2nd unit smoked us.

Mike Miller literally sealed the championship for us in 2012 by hitting 7 threes in game 5. We added Shane Battier who had back to back 17 point games in Game 1 and 2 of the 2012 finals and played defense on KD. In 2013 Shane battier helped put away the Spurs with an 18 point game and we all know how much of a factor Ray Allen was. Role players are important as fuck.

I swear, there was some podcast either Zach Lowe"s or Bill Simmon"s that talked about James Jones making a mural and/or championship puzzle piece and everytime they got closer and closer to the championship they would add a piece to the puzzle, and the team got really really into it and I just thought how unique that is to that specific team lol

I remember some podcast saying how much James Jones is loved in the locker room, and he made either some mural putting together the Cavs big moments in the championship run and it kept the guys motivated and grounded during the playoffs.

I think that"s kind of unfair to James Jones. Every interview I"ve seen with teammates of his makes it sound like he"s a fantastic teammate. he"s good at creating a "championship" culture and showing younger/less experienced players the mentality needed to win lots and lots of games.

Robert Horry seems like he was a really great clutch player, but unlike Jones he wasn"t the backbone of teams he played with.
