靈鍾神州，聲馳閬苑。托體庚辛之鄉，沐浴壬癸之境。玉樓重重，不數巫山十二。翠水疊疊，能教桃熟三千。清虛標微實之奇，坤順轄乾陽之柄。五老與為周旋，八洞時承懿旨。飛鸞開化乎女宗，駕鶴談玄於凈土。克推仙祖，允司婦儀。大悲大願，至玄至仁。西華清靈金母，宏慈太妙無上元君。

The Mother Queen ofthe West（西王母） is also known as the Queen Mother（王母娘娘、母娘） or Jade Pool Goddess（瑤池金母）. It is said that at the beginning of the world,the earth diverse itself into two polar and all living things emerged then. Theeast true air became the East Prince（東王公）, and the West true air become West Queen（西王母）. They are respectively representatives for the Yin（陰） and Yang（陽）. After the occurrence of Yin and Yang, the general lives began to grow.So, the West Queen（西王母） also controlsall livings development.

西王母又稱之王母娘娘、瑤池金母。是天地開闢的時候，大道分陰陽二炁，以生育萬物。東華至真之炁化生東王公，西華至妙之氣化生西王母。他們分別代表，陽氣和陰氣。有陰陽二炁，然後才有萬物。所以西王母，也有主管萬物的生長。

The West Queen s surname is gou（緱）, born in Yichuan（伊川）, and could flyimmediately after her birth. She is the most noble and respectable ancestor ofall Goddess. From the heaven to the earth, throughout all trailokya（三界）, all Goddesses should take orders from the WestQueen. The initial priority of a new Goddess is to meet West Queen, and thenshe steps on the golden palace to meet the Heaven Emperor.

西王母出身在伊川，姓緱，一出生就會飛翔。是至尊至貴的女神，是女仙之祖。天上天下、三界內外、十方的女性成仙者，都歸西王母掌管。所有成仙的女子，都要先拜謁西王母，然後才可以登金闕，朝上帝。

According to Chinese classicShanhaijing(山海經), the West Queen has the image like a wild personwith hails like leopard, tiger』s teeth, mess hair and roaring sound. However,it is not true, because the image described in classicshanhaijingactuallywas proved to be the Goddess White Tiger -a messenger of the West Queen ratherthan the West Queen herself by the bookCollections of Gods and Taoists《歷世真仙體道通鑒後編》.

《山海經》中描述：西王母的形象是「豹尾，虎齒，善嘯，蓬髮戴勝」。似乎是個野蠻人，但這其實是個誤解。據《歷世真仙體道通鑒後編》中記載，《山海經》中的這個長著豹子尾巴，會長嘯的人，其實是西方白虎之神。她是王母的使者，而並非西王母本人。

Five thousand years ago, a war broke out between Huang Di（黃帝）and Chi You（蚩尤）. The West Queen sent a Nine Heaven Goddess（九天玄女）down to teach Huang Di the art of making oneself invisible. Thanks to thissecret weapon, Huang Di defeated Chi You and united the middle area of China.

在五千年前，黃帝與蚩尤大戰。王母命九天玄女下凡，傳授黃帝奇門遁甲之術。黃帝憑藉這樣秘密武器，戰勝了蚩尤，統一了中原。

In the twenty-fifth year of King Zhou Zhao（周昭王）, Laojun（老君）as well as true man Yin Xi（尹喜）travelled west and passed a place called TortoisePlatform（龜台）. They recited the scriptureofChang Qing Jing Scripture（《常清靜經》）in front of the West Queen. Later Taiji Left God Ge Xuan（太極左宮仙公葛玄）said: 「I used to learn (the scripture) fromEast Grand Emperor(東華帝君), the Grandemperor from Gold Palace Prince（金闕帝君）, the GoldPalace Prince from West Queen. All this knowledge is passed in oral way, so nowI would like to write it down to record.」

周昭王二十五年歲，老君與真人尹喜西遊龜台，為西王母說《常清靜經》。所以太極左宮仙公葛玄序曰：「吾昔受之於東華帝君，東華帝君受之於金闕帝君，金闕帝君受之於西王母，皆口口相傳不記文字，吾今於世，書而錄之。」

Four thousand years ago, King Zhoumu(周穆王) once wandered far sandy area and arrived in Kunlun Mountain. He visitedthe West Queen, and received the Queen』s warmly treatment. They echoed thepoems while drinking delicious wine and at last they promised each other tohave a meeting later.

四千多年前，周穆王曾經遠涉流沙，到達了昆崙山，拜謁了西王母。西王母設宴款待了周穆王，兩人詩酒唱和，並且約好了以後再見。

2000 years ago in Han dynasty, there was an emperor called Han Wudi（漢武帝）. His determination for immortal life moved theWest Queen. The Queen showed herself on earth and criticized the emperor』sdesire and enjoy were just his obstacles to be immortal. She also suggested himthat the most critical thing to be remembered is to clear away the desires andkeep a peaceful mind. If he failed, he could still prolong his life and keephis body immune from ghosts by taking some pills. Through holding sacrifices insome famous mountains, he could keep his kingdom long last and his people enjoytheir life.」 Then, the West Queen taught him the books on the Eight Strategic（八會之書），true map of Five Mountains（五嶽真形圖）,scripture of Five Emperors Six Jias and signs ofsouls and flying（五帝六甲靈飛之符）.

兩千多年前的漢朝，漢武帝銳意求仙，感動了西王母，西王母下降。批評漢武帝追求外在的慾望和享受，是很難修成神仙的。並且告誡漢武帝：「求仙之人，需要少私寡慾，清靜內守。如果做不到，也可以服食仙藥。這個方法，雖然不能飛升，但是也可以延年益壽，役使鬼神。祭祀名山福地，可以保佑國運長久，百姓安居樂業。」並且傳授給漢武帝八會之書、五嶽真形五帝六甲靈飛之符。

In Wei &Jin dynasty, the West Queen sent Madam Shangyuan（上元夫人）down to earth to inform the True man Sanmao（三茅真君）the precious scriptures likeTai xiao（太霄）,Art of Hermit（隱書）,the image of inner alchemy（丹景）, the Taoism Core Value（道精）.Later, the Madam of South Mountain（南嶽夫人）came to Yang Luo Mountain（陽洛山）. She stepped on the Hermit platform and contemplatedbetook herself to fasting. Then, she became a Goddess. By the time she becameimmortal, the West Queen embodied herself and presented her four volumes ofYuQing Yin Shu(玉清隱書)as her gift.

在魏晉時期，西王母曾經命上元夫人下降，授於三茅真君《太霄》、《隱書》、《丹景》、《道精》等四部寶經。後來，南嶽夫人在陽洛山中，隱元台上齋戒，精思求仙。西王母下降，授南嶽魏夫人《玉清隱書》四卷。

The third day of March in Chinese lunar calendar, the West Queen will holda peach banquet by the Jade pool and all of the Gods will be invited to welcomethe new Gods or Goddesses.

每年的農曆三月初三，西王母都會在瑤池舉辦蟠桃盛會。邀請各路的神仙來參加這個宴會，以歡迎那些新修成的仙人。

The West Queen is our master of all creatures as well as the teacher of allliving things. She is as gentle as mother and as helpful as teacher. Usuallyshe will show herself to offer instruction when the apprentice of all people.She is always watching us from upside. We worship her and praise her andrespect her sincerely all the time. We hope someday she will appear and pointout the direction of our study.

西王母是造化世界萬物的主人，也是世間所有眾生的師父。她時常下降，引領教導學仙之人。她是慈祥的母親，也是諄諄教導的老師。她在仙界有著非常崇高的地位，掌握著世人善惡的檔案。她也在天上注視著我們。我們崇拜她，讚美她，心中無時無刻的不在想念她。希望她能下降，為我們指點修道路上的方向！
