在當今中國藝術品市場灼熱爆發的時代,外表平和內心狂野的藝術家馬傑卻始終有條不紊地在北京東部工作室潛心研究屬於自己的藝術表現風格。數年來他從不被多彩的大千世界所紛擾,自十年前從布滿分裂、病體、壓抑的悲觀主義作品系列延續至今極具里程碑意義的性冷淡風的表現形式,漸進的創作歷程形成中西多元化的顯著特徵,其各個階段的創作均在前一階段的基礎上演變和發展著,也許是叛逆的心裡和睿智的審視社會諸多現象給人類帶來的影響,造就了他的追求,並依據其形式的邏輯而延展畫面。
At the moment when Chinese art market is developing at a such breaking pace, Ma Jie, an artist with mild appearance,yet wild inner emotions, has always been studying in a studio in eastern Beijing and a style of his own finally taking into its form. For the past several years, he never gets disturbed by the colorful outsides.From the works covered with split, causative agent, depressed pessimism ten years ago, to the milestone sex apathy style, his creation gradually integrates the featuresof Chinese and western arts, and evolves on the basis of the previous development. rebellious heart and wise assess of many social phenomenon brings humanity great impact, creating his pursuit, and extending pictures according to his logic.

在馬傑的作品裡中國傳統藝術元素被創造性地實現了現代轉化。抽象表現的畫面並沒有掩蓋人類現實領域的空虛,《屋頂的和平鴿》《金錢的廢墟》《戰後》等作品都讓人感覺到一種淤積多年的內心沉澱的「溢出」,持續不斷的演繹了人類對劫後餘生世界的恐慌,為了緩解外部環境對於心理負荷所體現出揮之不去的負擔,在他《美麗孤兒》的作品中清冷的街道,萬籟俱寂的蒼穹高高掛起一輪冷月,黑暗中畫布方寸之間的月亮也許就是地球上最美麗的孤兒。對於自我生存現實極度敏感的他,繪畫中呈現的是一個個騷動不安的靈魂和其內心深處的潛意識,那些近於錯置的寫意「塗抹」正是一種不經矯飾而直達心靈的語言狀態。
In Ma Jie s works, Chinese traditional artistic elements have been modernized creatively. Abstract picture did not obscure the human reality in emptiness. The works like 『dove on the roof』, 『the Money Ruins』 and 『Postwar』 makes people feel a 『spillover』 of inside precipitation deposited for many years, continuously interpreting the human panic in the aftermath of the world. In order to ease the mental pressure from external environment, in his 『beautiful orphan』 ,the deserted streets, the silent sky with cold moon, and the moon in the darkness areperhaps the most beautiful orphans on earth. For him who is extremely sensitive to reality, what the paintings represent is a restless soul and the inner depths of the subconscious, and those close to the wrong set of freehand 『brushwork』 are the direct language state of mind without any modifications.

近期的《窯變系列》表現了從水墨精神到瓷質器皿窯變的探索。同時也引喻人類在社會熔爐中各種關係位置隨之產生的變化,按馬傑講「人類就像爐內窯變的器皿,社會就是一個大熔爐」,作品將含蓄寫意智慧發揮得淋漓盡致。
His recent 『series for the evolution of porcelain』 performs the exploration from the ink-wash painting spirit to the evolution of porcelain, and implies the corresponding change of human relationship in the social melting pot. According to Ma Jie, humans are like vessels, while society is a melting pot. His works plays the implicit freehand wisdom incisively and vividly.

在藝術界馬傑無疑是一位思路清晰、指向明確的藝術家。近十年來馬傑遊歷歐洲二十多個國家進行創作交流,拜訪諸多世界知名藝術家,並多次作為中國當代藝術家的身份參加各種藝術活動。經過多年來不間斷創新,將東方文化內涵和西方表現技巧在畫面里水乳交融。馬傑作品中既有中國古典文化美學觀,又融入了當今時代的語境,從而形成了獨特的藝術語言。他將畫面所發生的一切變化視為一種觀念的變化,就如同里西特所言:「我不相信畫所呈現的現實,所以我改變風格如同換件衣服一樣容易,不過是掩飾自己的一種方式罷了」。
In the art world, there is no doubt that Ma Jie has a clear thinking and clear goal. In the past ten years, he has visited more than 20 countries in Europe, exchanged ideas and communicated with many world-class famous artists, and has participated in various art activities as the identity of contemporary Chinese artists. After years of continuous innovation, the oriental culture and Western skills are combined in the picture. In his works, there are not only the Chinese classical cultural aesthetics, but also the context of the modern times, thus forming a unique artistic language. He regards all changes in the pictures as concept. As Richter said』 I don t believe painting presents the reality, so I changed the style as easily as changing clothes, to conceal myself.
