親愛的同學們，還記得第一單元第一課里，給大家講的as…as…的短語嗎？小明，Lucy和Paul的故事。
今天，小恬老師用一個新的詞——last，來給大家繼續講述這個故事。
Lucy and Paul became lovers soon after they went to college. Very soon, graduation was around the corner.
Paul and Lucy were getting busy. They tried their very best to find an ideal job to make a living in the big city. Paul was smart and good at computer, so he got a job very soon. Meanwhile, Lucy was not as lucky as Paul. She didn』t manage to find a job.
Lucy和Paul，進入大學不久後就成為了情侶。時光飛逝，畢業臨近。兩人漸漸忙碌起來，為了在這座大城市裡，找到一份理想的謀生工作，竭盡所能。Paul很聰明而且電腦操作很好，所以他很快就找到了一份工作。可Lucy沒有Paul那麼幸運，沒能找到一份工作。
At that time, Lucy』s parents called and told Lucy that they got an offer for Lucy in her hometown,and they urged Lucy to go back to hometown as soon as possible after graduation.
這時候，Lucy的父母打電話告訴她，為她在老家謀得一個工作機會，並且敦促她一畢業就立刻回老家。
It was the first quarrel between Lucy and Paul. Lucy thought she should follow her parent』s suggestion to go back to her hometown, while Paul thought Lucy should stay and try harder to get a job.
By the end of the quarrel, they decided to break up and they went back to their dorm.
Lucy和Paul發生了認識以來的第一次爭吵。Lucy覺得她應該聽從父母的建議回老家，可Paul覺得Lucy應該留下來，再更努力地找工作。在爭吵的最後，他們決定分手。
Lucy was sad, she said,
「Our relationship haslastedfor more than two years… I thought our love wouldlastforever. But now, we are breaking up.」
Lucy很傷心，她說，
我們的關係持續兩年多的時間了，我曾以為我們的感情會是永恆的。但現在，我們卻在分手。
Paul was sad too,he said,
「We have spent so much time together.Lastyear, we traveled to Disneyland together and had a great time.Lastwinter, you knitted a scarf for me and it was so warm and nice.Lastmonth, we adopted a little dog together. Evenlastweek, we were planning our graduation trip. How could this happen! Why are we breaking up?」
Paul也很傷心，他說，
我們在一起度過了那麼多時光。去年，我們一起去迪士尼度假，度過了美好的時光。去年冬天，你親手為我織了一條又暖又漂亮的圍巾。上個月，我們一起收養了一隻小狗。甚至上周，我們還在策劃我們的畢業旅行。這是怎麼回事，為什麼我們卻在分手呢！
Then Lucy and Paul agreed on something. They were determined to try everything they could to overcome the difficult situation.
之後，Lucy和Paul達成一致，他們決心，用盡全力去克服現在的困境。
Lucy said, this should be thelasttime we attempt to break up.
Paul said, this should be thelasttime we quarrel.
Lucy說，再也不要說分手。Paul說，再也不要吵架。
在這個故事中，出現了last的三種用法：
1.持續..（時間）

Lastyear，lastwinter，lastmonth，lastweek
3.最後，末尾
The last time…最後一次
