Young Bird Plan為中國設計力量的崛起創造一切可能。鼓勵每個設計師的能力和創造力，給有才華無機會、有夢想無資源的你提供一個實現美好夢想的平台，更重要的提供起飛的動力和方法。在這裡，每一個創意都會被仔細地聆聽，每一份耕耘都會被同等地重視......2013年，由葉春曦女士發起的Young Bird Plan自第一季開始以來，競賽通過作品落地、跨界評委等特點，提供給許多設計師從「Young Bird」到擁有獨立思考能力和實戰經驗設計師的蛻變的平台。

Young Bird Plan endeavors to create a wide range of possibilities for designers in China, and encourages them to show their abilities and creativity. For every talented and ambitious people who are lack of opportunities and resources, we offer corresponding assistance to fulfill their dreams, and more importantly, we provide motivations and methods. Here, every idea will be considered, every effort will be valued. The Young Bird Plan was launched by Isa Ye in 2013 with the unswerving intention of offering a platform for "Young Bird" to transform themselves into seasoned designers with independent thinking, on the basis of implementation-oriented principle and multidisciplinary jury panel.

4年以來，那些曾經的獲獎選手從6589名報名參賽選手中脫穎而出，不忘初心、繼續前進。為了更為密切的關注他們的動態與發展，此次專為Young Bird Plan四周年策劃的回訪欄目將以「除了設計師，我還是_____」為話題。希望能夠通過我們的視角發現競賽選手除了「設計師」這一角色之外的另一個不為人知的有趣身份。無論他們是誰，我們都相信，在設計出優秀的作品同時，他們也為自己設計了獨一無二的生活方式。

Our prize-winners stood out from 6,589 contestants, and for four years they have proceeded along separate ways and stayed true to the mission. Now, at the crucial moment of Young Bird Plan』s fourth birthday, we initiate an interview with them on the topic of 「Besides a designer, I am also a/an xxx」, in order to pay more attention to theirrecent status and development. We would like to know more about their other identities, and no matter the outcome, we believe that their lifestyle is definitely as unique as design.

Besides a designer, I am also an underwater diving fanatic with freestyle

王雪培：在那個世界，感官像突然失了靈，重力消失了，聲音變得無法循跡，色彩也模糊不清，唯有呼吸器斷斷續續的氣泡，聯繫著我和這個世界的關係。它安靜，輕盈，又純粹，但也冰冷，混沌，它接納著比以往更多的可能，我置於其中，又彷彿隱身於其間，享受著漂浮和緩慢的移動，如夢似夢。我與這個世界在海平面相遇，在聲音和色彩中告別，我通過潛水認識它，這地球真實的另一面，而潛水也帶給我生活另一面真真實實的體驗。

Wang Xuepei: It』s another world, where my sensory is out of control, gravity is disappeared, sound and colors are obscured. Only the intermittent bubbles from scuba connect me and the world. I feast my eyes on the quiet, relaxed, pure, cold and chaotic scenery. It boasts endless possibilities and cuddles me in its arms, endowing me the dream-like sense of floating and moving. I encounter this world on the sea level, and bid farewell between sound and colors. By underwater diving, I experience the other side of the world and my life.

除了設計師，我還是個接地氣的旅人

Besides a designer, I am also an unpretentious traveler

顧雨拯：因為總與「新」相關，我熱衷的旅行就帶了些探索獵奇的意味，總想看看那些脫離平日生活的情境，像火柴盒一樣壘起來的居所，被經幡包裹的山丘，如海浪般起伏的城市，泛著藍光的水中洞穴……越奇特越讓我著迷。這些新東西讓我了解世界的廣博與兼容，感知萬物相通，思維也變得自由，事物間潛在的聯繫成為我思考問題的出發點，有設計的問題，也有生活的問題。

Gu Yuzheng: I am always enticed by the new, something different from daily routine, hence in my journey, I desire to feed my curiosity and hunt for novelty. Distinctive things fascinate me, such as match-box-shaped residence, mountains wrapped around by prayer flags, city with wave-like terrain, and cave in the water with blue lights. Thanks to them, my horizons and mind are broadened, and I feel the connectivity among everything, the limitless possibilities of thinking. What』s more, I begin to consider problems of design and life on the basis of the relationships beneath different things.

除了設計師，我還是個電影界的老司機

Besides a designer, I am also seasoned movie-watcher

劉昆朋：電影為我打開了許多觀察世界的窗戶：伯格曼電影中關於宗教和人性惡的探討、黑澤明電影中的節奏和日本性、庫布里克對於世界理性到近乎冷漠的觀察、宮崎駿電影中人與自然關係的探究、李安對於中國人傳統倫理觀念的細膩表現等等，不同的內容在腦海中發酵，引導著尋找屬於自己的方式。慢慢覺得電影和建築具有某種相似性，都是從無到有的創作、都是創作者智識的反映，最終都通過視覺來感受和體驗。

Liu Kunpeng: Films have opened windows to the world for me. The discussion of regions and the evil in human nature in Bergman』s films, the rhythm and Japanese style in Akira Kurosawa』s films, the coldly rational observation of the world in Kubrick』s films, Miyazaki Hayao』s exploration for the relationships between human and nature, the exuqisite presentation of Chinese traditional ethics in Ang Lee』s films, are melted into my mind to forge my individual style. Films bear some similarities to architecture, because both of them are created from nothing based on the wisdom of creators, and eventually provide visual experience.

除了設計師，我還是個不喜歡被套路的「獨行俠」

Besides a designer, I am also a lone wolf who hates routine

蔡長澤：我覺得「設計師」不僅僅是一種身份，它應該是一種狀態，能從容的面對設計與生活，並且把各方面融合起來。「設計師」只是一份工作或者一種職業，它需要與不同的人群打交道、交流分享，並且有時候有些交流並非發自內心。相比之下，我更多的是選擇「獨處」，它其實是一種休閑方式，能讓你回歸簡單、日常的生活。比如說獨自到一個陌生的地方旅行、或者夜晚繞著小路跑步……甚至我也覺得這種「獨處」有時候可以是一群人，比如和很熟悉的朋友吃飯，安靜的聽他們聊家常，或者靜靜的跟家人待一整天。

Cai Changze: Designer is not merely an identity, but a kind of ability: elegantly confronting with design and life, and integrating different aspects. It is a designer』s job that needs to contact with diverse people, communicate and share with them, yet mostly, on a superficial level. That』s why I enjoy the moments of solitude as a way of leisure. I can return myself to a simple daily life by traveling to an unfamiliar place alone, jogging down a lane at night, or even spending time together with a group of familiar people. I would also like to have a meal together with my friends, listen to their idle chat, or just enjoy a peaceful day with my family.

除了設計師，我還是個不愛葛優癱的單車旅行者

Besides a designer, I am also an energetic bicycle traveler

邵帥：不同於坐火車或者汽車旅行，騎自行車提供了一種相對緩慢（但又比徒步快）的旅行方式，讓我有機會更細緻得感受到地區間不同人情，不同天氣，不同地理的變化。那種身體的疲憊或者反應，讓我有一種對周圍環境更真實的體驗，會讓我覺得與自然有了一種更緊密的聯繫，進而會對更廣闊更悠久的自然，產生了一種真實的敬畏。對我而言，騎車旅行是最好的一種認識這個世界的方式。

Shao Shuai: Compared with traveling by train or car, cycling provides a slower means of transportation (yet faster than walking) which just spares opportunity for me to further experience various social atmosphere, the change of weather and terrain in different regions. The physical sort of exhaustion and reactions actually make me feel myself and the connection in the current surroundings, causing reverence for the expansive and long-standing nature. Thus in my view, traveling by bike is the most efficient way to see the world.

除了設計師，我還是個不正經的視頻博主

Besides a designer, I am also a naughty vlogger

仇沛然：從建築系畢業之後，我先後做過軟體和硬體的交互設計，最近還開始讀了計算機碩士。但這些都是正統學術路線，有時我也和朋友討論，人生有什麼不正經又有趣的方向呢？於是我們就做了一檔類似「鏘鏘三人行」的三人閑談式聊天節目，因為在這樣能夠了解到不同行業嘉賓的有趣故事。我們一直說，「看一期節目，就像和許多神奇的人聊天 。」

Qiu Peiran: After earning a Bachelor of Architecture degree, I chose my professional career as an interactive designer in software and hardware successively, and recently I started studying the Master of Computing program. Yet all of them are purely academic. Sometimes I talk with my friends to look for something unorthodox and interesting in life. In consequence, following the example of Behind the Headlines we made a talk show hosted by three people to present funny stories from multi-disciplinary guests. We always say, by watching one episode of this show you can communicate with different amazing people.

除了設計師，我還想成為一個有錢任性的投資家

Besides a designer, I also would like to be an investor

潘卡林：在金融中，我發現從那些跳動的數字讓我獲得與設計一樣的興奮。建築與金融，是我認為世界上最對立的一對學科之一。在建築的世界裡，我崇尚建築的藝術性與非理性，視金錢如糞土，建築是感受的，詩學的，時空的；金融卻是冷酷的，理性的，唯利是圖的，邪惡的。我喜歡這種在兩個極端來回的多段式人生，一不留神，價值觀即會在往返的路上被顛覆、破碎、重建。

Pan Kalin: I found that the rhythm of numbers in finance stimulates me as the same as design. Architecture and finance are apparently contradictory subjects. Architecture is about artistic, romantic, sentimental, poetic, and spatiotemporal, and money means nothing there. On the contrary, finance is ruthless, rational, vernal, and evil. I enjoy wobbling between these two extremes, and once incautiously I will suffer the process of overturning and crushing old values and reestablishing them.

除了設計師，我還是個進擊的二次元愛好者

Besides a designer, I am also a passionate fan of ACG

楊志德：電影、音樂、動漫、電子遊戲都是我閑暇時光比較喜歡的興趣愛好。其中，我很喜歡《了不起的狐狸爸爸》，因為裡面有些非常天真、魯莽但實際上充滿勇氣和理想的角色很吸引我，他們給予我勇氣來對抗自己的怯懦與消極。

Yang Zhide: My hobbies include movies, music, anime and games. One of my favorites is the Fantastic Mr. Fox. Some characters in this movie are innocent, dauntless and ambitious, which attract me a lot. They also help me pluck up courage to fight against my cowardice and depression.

除了設計師，我還是個萌萌噠的模型愛好者

Besides a designer, I am also a model fanatic

練志威：模型是以一種縮小比例的方式將我們生活中不能輕易得到的物質，並且讓人以區別於現實的方式「擁有」了一個物質。模型一次性滿足了人對於物質的佔有，對於生產製造的探索以及對於藝術的追求。學了設計之後，做模型的時候不會像單純模型愛好者一樣不斷堆砌細節，對於設計理想與現實有了新的思考，開始考慮如何將設計走向現實的問題。

Lian Zhiwei: Model has the ability to represent the physical appearance of a real object (which is difficult to possess) in miniature. It easily satisfies people』s material interests as well as the exploration desires for manufacturing and art. With the knowledge of design, I will not overly focus on details vis-à-vis amateurs; instead, I will concentrate on implementing the design on the basis of new consideration about the ideal and reality.

除了設計師，我還是不走尋常路的傳統文化愛好者

Besides a designer, I am also an experienced enthusiast for traditional culture

李春秋：中國傳統文化在世界上向來是神秘、古老的存在，正如易中天所說——文明是液態的，而中華是水，上善若水、兼容並包，天下莫能與之爭純樸、素潔。我自幼便對中國傳統文化有濃厚的興趣，後來對傳統武術的學習使我對傳統文化真的是愛的深沉。其中蘊含的哲學思想使我以不同的角度看待生活，看待設計，更好地處理生活中的問題。參加Young Bird Plan所用的概念就來自我對於傳統文化的理解，可見傳統文化對我的影響之大。

Li Chunqiu: It is generally assumed that Chinese traditional culture is mysterious with long history. Just as Yi Zhongtian said, culture is liquid, and the superior virtue is like water that benefits all things but does not contend with them. I have been fascinated by Chinese traditional culture since I was a child. After learning traditional martial arts, I have become further enchanted by it. The underlying philosophy open my mind to consider life and design from different perspectives, and help me provide better solutions to the problems in daily routine. Traditional culture has made quite an impact on me, and the conception I utilized in Young Bird Plan was part of my interpretation about it.

除了設計師，我還是個牛X轟轟的國際象棋愛好者

Besides a designer, I am also a chess fanatic

Huan Khoo: 象棋鍛煉了我的創造性思維，讓我在日常的設計工作中能夠時刻保持敏銳。面對設計上的困難，它可以激發我的創造力，使我不拘於條條框框，能夠更全面的思考問題，同時還能緩解壓力。在比賽中，失敗會讓我反思錯誤，研究改進的方法，在下一次對弈中做得更好。所以，即使我選擇了設計師和註冊建築師作為我的職業，象棋仍舊在我忙碌的生活中佔據一席之地。

Huan Khoo: Playing chess encourages my creative thinking and exercises my mind, keeping it sharp and ready for everyday』s challenges in my design career. I have used it as a method to stimulate creativity and think outside the box when I come across design challenges, as well as to relieve stress. When I lost, I would reflect on the mistakes and study what could be improved in the game to better myself for the next one. As I moved on to my professional career as a designer and registered architect, chess still remains to be part of my busy lifestyle.

除了設計師，我還是個低調的巴薩球迷

Besides a designer, I am also a low-key football fan

Samuel Silva Batista：我對足球的熱愛絲毫不遜色於建築和設計。我常常踢的位置是十號前鋒，這個位置需要機動能力和分析能力，對球技要求較高。你必須先發制人才能佔據優勢。建築師的繁重工作佔據了我大量的時間，於是我踢球的時間也比之前大大減少。不過，我一直在尋求工作與娛樂的平衡，才能擁有健康的生活方式。

Samuel Silva Batista: The passion I feel for architecture and design; I also feel it for football. The position I always played is attacker number 10, as it is a position that needs a lot of creativity, skill and analysis with the ball. You always have to be one step ahead to surprise our adversary so you can take advantage.When I began the career of architecture, the hard work it entails did not allow me to spend time in football as I did years ago.And I always try to distribute my time in the best way to be able to play and thus achieve a healthy life.

張家赫: 將一個最令我著迷的形象物化出來，這是一種形象也是一種狀態: 外表冷酷卻優雅、美艷，而內心時常沉醉於美好的事物、時刻等的狀態,便有了Vanished Hospital。它主要針對廣大青年患者在追求自己的生活方式、培養優雅品位的過程中出現的各種需求及癥狀。另外，我還會在自己公眾號上分享自己喜歡的jazz, blues, soul, lo-fi, beats等自己喜歡的音樂與音樂人，偶爾會夾雜些文字隨筆，並且會定期邀請身邊的朋友們來分享他們喜歡的音樂和他們的作品。

Zhang Jiahe: I hope to materialize my favorite figure in my mind, which is cool, elegant and glamorous, and owns a beautiful soul. Vanished Hospital is the outcome. It mainly provides solutions to various demands for young people when they chase their lifestyle and foster senses of grace. In addition, I share my favorite music and musicians on it often, including Jazz, blues, soul, lo-fi and beats, and occasionally some essays. I like regularly inviting my friends to share their articles and preferred music.
