I think that view is a bit robotic. I get that business is cold, but that doesn"t mean it"s a good thing. I mean, could you really trade a guy that played his heart out for you days after his sister"s death and expect him not to take it personally? I don"t know, it"s pretty hard for me to brush those things off as "ah well, just business"

I can"t think of a circumstance as difficult as this one. Last year was fucking magical. IT went through some of the shittiest shit a dude can go through, and our homegrown, stand up, work hard, almost never do wrong, AB was there for him.

I mean, you couldn"t write a better script for a movie set up, and this is real fucking life we"re talking about.

I mean, in general, I totally agree. People take sport too personally. But holy shit, the circumstances around this one are pretty fucking unique.

This is why Ainge is great, this is why he did the Nets deal, when most were at the time, confused by it.

To be a good trader, either at Wall Street or pro sports, you have to be detached from it all. Sentimentality can be kept in private, it does not belong in a professional setting.

He has every right to be angry, if i was IT, Cavs would be one of the last teams i would want to go to. I would want to go to some shitshow franchise like Magic, Bulls, Knicks, someone who will basically pay him alot of money. Which is what he really wants.

I understand that wins/championships are all that really matters, but isn"t there an emotional aspect of building a team? Getting players to sacrifice for the team requires a bond with the franchise/system/players. Would the Warriors players have had the same team-oriented mindset if they traded Draymond right after signing Durant? Wall Street"s commodity is money, while the NBA"s commodity is people.

Totally agree. People love to praise GMs for being cold-blooded, but the Warriors" big moment was turning down the Klay for Love trade that 90% of the league thought they should do. Same thing for the Spurs. They believed in their guys and stuck with them through the highs and lows and built a real culture.

They didn"t turn that down out of loyalty to Klay though. They believed he would become a more valuable player than Kevin Love. Danny (and frankly no one) believes that Kyrie will be more valuable than IT in the coming years so he made a trade to improve the team. That"s completely different.

It could be argued that sentimentality is now holding back the Spurs. Giving Pau the deal he got. Keeping Parker and Manu. These are not things a team trying to win a championship does.

也有種說法是感情用事現在也在拖馬刺的後腿。給了保羅-加索爾大合同。把帕克和馬努留在隊里。這些操作不像是一支志在奪冠的球隊會做的啊。
