Harry was a white dog with black spots who liked everything,except...getting a bath.
So one day when he heard the water running in the tub,he took the scrubbing brush...
哈利是一條白底黑色條紋的小狗，除了洗澡之外，他喜歡做任何事情。
有一天，當他聽到要洗澡的時候便悄悄拿走了洗澡刷。
and buried at in the backyard.
將刷子藏在了洞中。
Then he ran away from home.
之後便跑到了離家很遠的地方。
He played where they were fixing the street,and got very dirty.
到修路的地方去玩耍，結果把自己弄的臟髒的。
He played at the railroad,and got even dirtier.
又跑到鐵路上遊玩，卻變的比之前還要臟。
He played tag with other dogs,and became dirtier still.
又和其他的小狗一起玩耍，但是依然是那麼臟。
He slid down a coal chute and got the dirtiest of all. In fact,he changed from a white dog with black spots to a black dog with white spots.
後來他從斜坡滑落到煤堆里變成了小夥伴中最髒的一隻，
事實上，他已經變了樣子，
從一隻白底黑色條紋的小狗變成了一隻黑底白色條紋臟狗。
Although there were many other things to do,Harry began to wonder if his family thought that he had really run away.
儘管他還想在這裡玩耍，但是哈利卻開始考慮到他的家人會不會認為自己走丟了。
He felt tired and hungry too,so without stopping on the way he ran back home.
而且他現在感覺又累又餓，所以哈利馬不停蹄地向家的方向奔跑。
