Effects Can』t Be Avoided while Karmic Obscurations Can Be Eliminated


我們很多時候都有煩惱,有痛苦,這些煩惱、痛苦是從哪裡來的?我們會找很多原因,但是這都不是真正的。真正的原因是我們有業障,所以有煩惱,繼而要感受痛苦。


We usually suffer afflictions and pains, but where do they come from? Maybe we tend to find different reasons, but none of them is true. The true reason is that we have karmic obscurations, which lead to afflictions and then pains.

業果無法躲避,業障可以消除



有些人覺得,那我們現在換個地方,換個工作,行不行呢?業力現前了,你在哪裡都一樣,是躲不掉的。你換個環境沒有用,換個工作沒有用,你躲不掉業障,躲不掉煩惱,躲不掉痛苦。


Some people may wonder whether it will work by moving or changing jobs. But when karmic obscuration matures, you will never be able to avoid it wherever you are. It won』t work even if you move or change your job, because you can』t avoid karmic obscuration, afflictions or pains.

業果無法躲避,業障可以消除


現在我們發心學佛,而且想開悟、想成就,但是很難開悟,很難成就,這也是因為我們有業障。若是沒有業障就好了,我們就可以解脫、可以成佛了。解脫成佛以後,就可以不煩惱、不痛苦了。


Now we have made up our minds to learn Dharma, and eventually to obtain liberation and accomplishment, but it』s hard to make it, because we have karmic obscuration. Without karmas, it would be better, for we can get liberated and enlightened. Being Buddha with liberation, we won』t suffer afflictions and pains.

業果無法躲避,業障可以消除


我們都有業障,業障能不能消掉、去除,能不能和我們的相續分離?可以的。因為我們的本性是清凈的,和佛無二無別。這些業障不是本具的,不是本來就有的,是突然來的,也是我們自己造下的,是我們自己把本性染污了。但是這些染污、這些業障都可以懺除。好比鏡子能照見萬物,但是現在落滿了灰塵。但是這些灰塵不是鏡子的一部分,是後來落到鏡子上的。現在我們拿抹布來擦試的話,再多再厚的灰塵,時間再久的灰塵,只要我們通過各種方法,不斷地反覆擦洗,就一定能清理掉。鏡子本身的清凈恢復了,自然就能照出萬物來了。


We all have karmic obscuration, but can karmas be eliminated and separated from our continuity of mind? The answer is YES, for our nature is pure, just the same as that of Buddha. The karmas are neither inherent, nor designed to be there, but appeared suddenly due to our own deeds. It is we ourselves that defile our own nature. But the stains and karmas can both be removed. Take a mirror as an example, it can reflect everything, but now it』s covered by dust. But the dust does not come from the mirror itself, but from somewhere else. Clean the mirror with a cloth, applying various ways repeatedly, and the dust will surely be wiped out, no matter how thick it is or how long it has been on the mirror. With the mirror recovering its pure nature, it can reflect everything naturally.

業果無法躲避,業障可以消除


同樣的道理,我們的本性是清凈的,這些功德、福報、智慧都是本來就具有的,但是現在就是顯現不出來,因為被業障遮蔽了;但是這個業障不是本性,我們可以通過消業的方法,把這些業障都懺掉。業障沒有了,本具的光明自然就顯現了;本具的光明顯現了,智慧與福報就有了;有了智慧與福報,就不用煩惱了;沒有煩惱了,就不用再痛苦了。


Just like what is mentioned above, our nature is pure, and the merits, blessings and wisdom exist inherently, but merely can』t appear at present due to karmic obscuration; but the karmic obscuration is not our nature, and can be eliminated through confession. Without karmas, the original brightness will appear automatically, and then come wisdom and blessings. If you have wisdom and blessings, afflictions would go away, and then pains would leave as well.
