天選之子！他選秀連續錯過庫倫德樂考昏招連連，GM界最坑爹屬他

David Kahn is the worst GM in NBA history.

大衛-卡恩是NBA歷史最辣雞的球隊經理。

I don t know much about the bastard but after looking through the NBA Drafts he participated in and the choices he made, I ve got to say I m sorry for Minnesota, but hey at least you have a spooky team.

2009 Draft

Before we take a look at Kahns stupidity, lets take a look at their roster at the time.

Heading into the draft Minnesota had 4 first round picks, and 2 second rounders, thats more than enough to find some decent NBA players in such a good draft class. Except this is David Kahn we re talking about. With his two lottery picks he drafted Ricky Rubio and Jonny Flynn, two point guards back to back, ahead of Stephen Curry, DeMar Derozan, Jrue Holiday, and many more. He then went on to draft Ty Lawson and Wayne Ellington with the other two 1st round picks, and Nick Calathes in the 2nd

Kahn drafted 4 point guards in one draft class, why? I wouldn t blame him for Flynn becoming a bust or Rubio not living up to his potential, but when you could have had Curry and Derozan on the same team as Kevin Love and Al Jefferson, its mind blowing.

Players Kahn didnt draft- DeMar DeRozan, Jordan Hill, Jrue Holiday, Stephen Curry, DeMarre Carroll, Jeff Teague, Darren Collison, Taj Gibson

2010 Draft

Coming off a terrible 15-67 the Timberwolves had the 4th pick in the 2010 draft which produced players like DeMarcus Cousins, Derrick Favors, John Wall, and Gordon Hayward to name a few.

Heading into the draft Minnesota could use an improvement at just about every position, so anybody would have been a good choice, but they chose Wesley Johnson, a 22 year old over younger players like DeMarcus Cousins, Gordon Hayward, and Paul George. With their next two picks they drafted Trevor Booker and Luke Babbitt. Out of those three players Trevor Booker is the best.

2011 Draft

This would be the last time David Khan would make a lottery selection, drafting Derrick fucking Williams with the 2nd pick over Jonas Valanciunas, Kemba Walker, Klay Thompson, Alec Burks, Brandon Knight, Kawhi, Reggie Jackson, Jimmy Butler, and a whole shit ton of other good ass players in this deep ass draft class.

Had David Khan drafted the right players Minnesota could have been NBA champions/contenders right now. Their starting lineup could have been something like this if they had drafted the best players at each position,

PG- Stephen Curry

SG- DeMar Derozan

SF- Kawhi Leonard

PF- Kevin Love

C- DeMarcus Cousins

I don t know of any other GMs who could be worse than Kahn but if there are go ahead and tell me, I d love to have a discussion about this.

森林狼手握4個首輪簽，2個二輪簽，在那樣一屆新秀池出色的選秀大會中，這麼多簽太足夠他去選一些足夠出色的NBA球員了。然而做出選秀選擇的是大衛卡恩啊。兩個樂透簽，先後摘下盧比奧和瓊尼-弗林，連續摘下兩個控衛，在這兩人之後還有庫里、德羅贊、霍樂迪和其他很多很多球員。然後吶？他接著用剩下的兩個首輪簽選擇了泰勞森和韋恩埃靈頓，又用次輪簽摘下了尼克卡拉西斯。

一屆選秀大會摘下4個控衛，歪？弗林成為水貨，盧比奧沒有最大程度兌現天賦，這些都不怪他，但他本有機會選下庫里和德羅贊，和當時隊內的樂福和艾爾傑弗森組成一隊，這就有點難以接受了。

卡恩錯過的球員：德羅贊、喬丹希爾、霍樂迪、庫里、德馬爾卡羅爾、傑夫蒂格、達倫科里森、泰吉布森。

2010年選秀大會

在經歷了一個15勝67負的糟糕賽季後，森林狼得到了2010年選秀大會的4號簽，這屆選秀大會中有著像考辛斯、費沃斯、沃爾、戈登海沃德等等的球員。

森林狼每一個位置都需要提升，所以這屆選秀大會對球隊來說任何人都可能是一個很好的選擇。但卡恩選擇了韋斯利-約翰遜，一個22歲的大齡新秀，因此放棄了考辛斯、海沃德、保羅喬治等人。剩下的兩個簽位，卡恩選擇了特雷沃-布克和盧克-巴比特。這三個球員中，發展最好的是布克。

卡恩錯過的球員：除了韋斯利-約翰遜外的所有球員。

2011年選秀大會

這是卡恩最後一次主掌選秀大會了，然後他用榜眼簽選下了德里克-草泥馬-威廉姆斯，錯過了瓦蘭丘納斯、肯巴沃克、克萊湯普森、伯克斯、奈特、倫納德、雷吉傑克遜、小吉巴，還有很多很多很多出色的新秀。

但凡卡恩做出幾個正確的決定的話，森林狼早就能組成一支爭奪冠軍的球隊了。如果卡恩每次都做出了最好的選擇，原本森林狼的首發陣容可以是：

庫里、德羅贊、倫納德、樂福、考辛斯。

I think you could make a "look who they could ve drafted" list for a lot of teams that would look similarly impressive.

In 2011-2014 drafts a team with good draft reputation could have drafted these guys but didn t: PG: Isaiah Thomas SG: Allen Crabbe SF: Jimmy Butler PF: Draymond Green (they could ve drafted him if they didn t trade their pick away) C: Nikola Jokic

Even Spurs look bad if phrased that way.

Nobody was gonna pick IT with a first rounder or something, we had no idea what he could ve become. Kahn s fuckups are blatantly obvious, which is the issue.

No, the Flynn pick was just stupid. I understand it s hard to evaluate talent and GMs might have passed over Steph for whatever reason, but you don t use back-to-back high draft picks to pick two pure point guards. The principle is just awful. It was one of the most head-scratching draft moves I ve ever seen.

Jazz could easily be a mega-lineup of Giannis-Zach LaVine-Kawhi-Paul George-Gobert right now, but it s extremely not plausible. Just too many variables in these type of things.

The Cavs have had multiple GMs since 2003, but they ve been one of the worst run franchises in that time. Lucked into obvious picks in LeBron and Kyrie. Fucked up many others. Failed to build a competent team around the best player in the world. Made an obvious trade for Love that was essentially orchestrated by LeBron.

What s the best move they ve made? Trading for JR and Shump?

That s arguably worse than Khan. But sometimes it s better to be lucky.

He was playing GM in 2K Franchise mode, trading picks for stars. Except all of those players were out of their primes.

Summary: Seven 1st round picks (3 of which were in the top 10) for a broken Deron Williams, Gerald the standard for horrible contracts Wallace, and the ghosts of Joe Johnson, Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, and Jason Terry. Incredible.

ding ding ding Prokhorov wanted butts in the seats from day 1. New city, new buzz, new revenue. He wanted a championship within 5 years of the move, and well, we know how that worked out now, but most Nets fans, and NBA coverage we re not hating on the the PP/KG trade when it went down.

You re supposed to trade away literally every and get late 1sts for guys like Chris kaman somehow, then have 14 first round picks. Get all the rookies, then trade them away before RFA so you can control the 1st round for forever.

Kahn was awful, but criticizing him for the Lawson pick is dumb because he was drafted for the Nuggets. Kahn didn t pick Lawson and then decide to trade him, Denver made that decision for him

It also wasn t know when Rubio would come over to the NBA. So yes, three PGs were drafted, but only one was on the team that season.
