He has either consistently under performed as a coach or GM for a number of years. He has coached three top-5 players at their position plus two of the best role players in the league (though Redick should probably be considered a tier or two higher than role player at this point). Now they have good bench depth as well with Austin Rivers, Felton and Speights and they are still struggling. The top teams in the league manage to roll on with injuries; the Clippers always use it as a crutch. When does Doc start to be put on the hot seat?

I think he made a huge mistake taking a gamble on the aging Pierce. Plus they"ve had a lot of very unfortunate injuries that are just bad luck.

Pierce is a waste of a roster spot. He was awful last year and is only worse now. While the Spurs develop players like Bertans and Murray with their last few roster spots and the Warriors do the same with McCaw and trying out players like McGee, Rivers goes with the old and ineffective.

I think he should be on the hot seat as a GM more than anything. He consistently downgraded in talent via trades, and he has been awful at drafting players.

Regarding the injuries. The Clippers have consistently done as well as one can expect with injuries. Blake/Cp3 generally sit out for a good portion of the season, and yet we are always near the top of the conference, which is a good sign. However, injuries in the playoffs are always far more detrimental. That being said, losing to Houston and OKC in really horrific fashion was attributed to bad luck.

I think he should have been in the hot seat last year, but then a Cp3/Blake injury in the playoffs bailed him out.

The only person that can fire Coach Doc is GM Doc. The only person that can fire GM Doc is Ballmer. Ballmer has said that he would be very hands off as an owner in terms of basketball. So Doc isn"t going anywhere.

I"d actually argue the issue is his shortcomings as GM. It"s a weird situation though, I don"t know if you could ask him to step down as a GM while keeping him as a coach.

There should be no criticism of the Clippers" record this season. They"re 27-9 with CP in the lineup. That"s a 61-62 win pace.

None of the other top teams have had to deal with the injuries the Clippers have. Take Lebron off of Cleveland for a couple months and what"s their record right now? Exactly.

There"s plenty of things he has done wrong in previous seasons but their problems this aren"t on him.
