05-06賽季MVP競爭竟和這賽季如此相似|詹姆斯十年前已成聯盟最強？

This year"s MVP race is eerily similar to the 2005-06 season"s. (self.nba)

今年的MVP爭奪戰和05-06賽季相似的讓人害怕

威斯布魯克=科比。他倆都打出了瘋狂的數據，以及在歷史上都名列前茅的使用率，同時排在西部第七的位置。球迷為他們身邊陣容的弱小感到心塞，噴他們的人指責他們刷數據，占球權，以及投籃效率低下。網路口水戰接連發生。

Westbrook = Kobe. Both players putting up crazy statlines with historic usage on the 7th seeded team in the west. Fans lament their weak supporting casts, detractors accuse them of statpadding, ballhogging, and less than efficient shooting. Lots of internet arguments ensue.

Harden = Nash. League leader in assists for an overachieving D"Antoni-coached team with the third best record in the west. Frontrunner and likely winner.

Kawhi = Dirk. Best player and only All Star on a 60 win team that"s been good for the entire decade.

Lebron = Lebron. Best player in the league on his third season with Cleveland.

Curry = Duncan. Two time MVP on the top seeded west team but they aren"t being seriously considered for the award.

Thomas = Wade. Leading scorer on the second seeded team in the east. Both two time All Stars but well behind in the race compared to the top 4 candidates.

Thanks! Funny thing is, back then I was totally in the Kobe > Lebron camp and spent a fair amount of time arguing it and that Kobe should be MVP. So all the discussion around Westbrook"s candidacy gave me deja vu. Then I went back and looked at it and noticed that there were a lot of other parallels as well.

Idk I think its good to look at past scenarios like this to get an idea of how they played out, and sometimes sets a precedent. Like Oscar Robertson not winning MVP when he averaged a triple double, imo that means Russ definitely not getting it

Lebron wasn"t considered the best player in the league back then. By a few people I"m sure but it was very far from a consensus or even a popular opinion. Started to become a more popular opinion after 2007 playoffs

Other than that decent comparisons

At that time, in no particular order:

Duncan, Dirk, LeBron, Kobe, Wade (after Finals, before Finals I"d put Nash here.. there could even be an argument for Elton Brand, not even joking.)

No disrespect to Nash, great player on a great team, but the other guys were better on D and if you want to argue Nash > Dirk, both were offensive juggernauts and Dirk"s team won 60 games, but Nash"s won 54 while missing Amare. Probably could convince me Nash deserved top 5.

Nash was a great player on a kind of garbage team, which is why he won. After Marion, nobody on that Suns team was actually good. Raja Bell was third in points on that team. Diaw couldn"t shoot threes yet and still managed to have his career high in points that season. Pat Burke played 40 games; Kurt Thomas played 50+.

And that team came close to the Finals. Nash was just an incredible force multiplier. Definitely not a better player than Lebron, but I think the league took the opportunity to reward the unique circumstances surrounding Nash"s season/skills.

Elton Brand was a really good player, people don"t remember him because he never won a ring, had a super boring game, and had a bad injury that split his career into (1) All-Star lock half and (2) starter/role player half.

納什是一個爛隊里很強的球員，這也是他拿下MVP的原因。除了馬里昂，太陽隊內的其他人都沒多強，拉加貝爾是球隊的第三號得分手。迪奧當時還不能投三分，卻設法拿下了生涯最高的得分。派特伯克打了40場比賽，柯特托馬斯打了50多場。

而且那支球隊很接近總決賽，納什是個很不錯的能放大進攻端威力的球員。也絕對是比詹姆斯更好的球員，但我覺得聯盟抓住了機會，好好的獎勵了一下處在獨特情境中的納什。

埃爾頓布蘭德真的也很強，大家都遺忘了他因為他從來沒拿到過冠軍，比賽的風格也很無聊，還經歷了一次把他生涯劈成兩半的傷病，第一半是穩定全明星的級別，第二半是合格首發和角色球員的級別。

edit: He"s also credited as a producer on Rescue Dawn.
