從五大囧到2院救贖，勇士拯救麥基生涯讓人驚嘆！夏天能拿4年6400萬？

As a basketball fan, can we just appreciate how Golden State revived JaVale McGee"s career? (self.nba)

作為一個籃球迷，我們就不能好好感激一下勇士拯救了麥基職業生涯這件事么？

當他給奇才打球的時候，我記得他有成為一台兩雙機器的潛力。哎呀，他23歲的時候就場均10+8還有2.4個蓋帽。但他同樣也有一些很愚蠢的表現，五大囧可以說是徹底的毀掉了他的名聲。記得有一次他非常可悲的想要拿到一次三雙，那行為看起來真的很卑微。

他那些愚蠢的表現（就是搞砸的表現），以及非常低下的籃球智商毀了他的潛力，也導致了他最後職業生涯的滑坡。場均作為首發球員時可以得到25分鐘的上場時間。雖然因為傷病上場時間有所減少，但還是沒有被正確的使用。最終他錯過了很多比賽，而他打的那些比賽，也只能得到10-15分鐘的上場時間。

所以簡單點說，就是他搞砸了！

但再之後，勇士決定簽下他。他們會讓他在小段的時間裡上場。賽季初期的時候，他還是與有些愚蠢的表現，但是勇士的高超水平和常有的領先優勢掩蓋了這些。

現在季後賽到了，他現在的表現完全可以用大殺特殺來形容。完美融入了勇士的進攻。像是一個窮人版小喬丹，在場上和很多個窮人版保羅一起打球——他的角色看起來就是接空接，以及完成快速的終結。防守端，為球隊提供核心區域的防守以及籃筐保護，這些也是勇士所欠缺的。他反正就是努力打球，然後獲得了回報。

很多球員在被正確使用或者去了一支優秀的球隊之後可以變得多棒簡直令人震驚。

When he played for Washington, I remember thinking that he had potential to be a double-double machine. Hell, at 23 he averaged 10/8, and 2.4 blocks a game. He made a lot of boneheaded plays, though, and Shaqtin" a Fool really ruined his reputation. I remember his pathetic attempt at trying to get a triple double, which was so cringe-worthy to watch.

His boneheaded plays (lowlights), and his unfortunately low BBIQ basically ruined his potential, which in turn, began his downhill spiral of a career. As a starter that was getting close to 25 mpg, his minutes dropped due to injury and was just not being utilized properly. Eventually, he would miss a lot of games, and when he played, he would only get 10-15 minutes.

Basically, he fucked up!

But then, the Warriors decide to pick him up. They begin to utilize him in short bursts. At the beginning of the season, he"s still making boneheaded plays, but the Warriors" skill and large leads covers this.

Now, come playoffs, and he"s absolutely feasting. He"s a perfect fit in the Warriors offense. He"s like a lesser DeAndre Jordan, playing with multiple lesser Chris Pauls whenever he"s on the floor - his role is seemingly to catch lobs, and get quick baskets. On the defensive end, he"s there to provide the core defense and rim protection that the Warriors lacked. He"s just hustling and getting rewarded for it.

It"s just insane how much better players play when utilized properly and are on a good team.

He"s always been a spark plug. The thing is he isn"t really relied upon to do outside of what he can in GS unlike before where his potential is being explored and he"s playing a lot of minutes.

GS also creates so much floor space because of their shooting and passing ability so he only needs to be rolling at the right time and he can finish strong.

He"s a prime example of how really good coaching (on-court and off-court) can make a mentally-scattered player like Javale into an amazing role player.

He"s always just needed a well-defined role on offense and defense, and teammates who build his confidence, trust and understanding of the schemes.

No one should sleep on how well the staff and coaches worked to make him fit so well and understand his role/responsibilities so well. He also, obviously, worked his ass off to deserve/receive their trust at this point in the season.

Equally, I"m sure it"s huge for him to have such cerebral and chill players make sure that he gets everything he needs to be successful.

It"s an underrated part of the Warriors - they win (and Durant came over) because of how smart/perceptive/competitive they all are, and how much fun that makes the game.

McGee ain"t dumb - he just needed to be around people who could understand (and thus teach) him. That said, almost losing his once-promising career probably dealt him a healthy dose of humiliation and made him hungrier and more appreciative of a great situation.

The DeAndre comparison is quite apt... main difference is I think he can"t stay on the floor for too long because of his asthma. And I suspect when he gets gassed or asked to do too much is when boneheaded plays happen.

Warriors really is a perfect fit.

I won"t be surprised if he starts showing up in bursts as part of the death line-up.

Matter of fact whenever he has played with the starters recently, the +/- has been death line-up like.

He was +24 today, next Warrior was +13.

Happy for him and hope Warriors can keep him next year.

關鍵問題是最近他跟首發球員一起上場的時候，正負值基本就是死亡陣容的水平。

今天他的正負值是+24，次於他的下一個勇士球員是+13

真的為他感到開心，希望勇士下賽季可以把他繼續留在陣中。

People need to use the eyeball test more often. Marc Gasol is right. It"s taken THIS long for other team fans to see how much he"s turning games around simply by looking at stats. I mean it"s not like the stats are saying something opposite of his game, but watching him play, you"d think the numbers would be even higher.

McGee"s eyeball test was rough for maybe a month in to start the season, and when Zaza went out, the guy became one of the best role player on the team. Was not hard to see he provided a threat on offense, a shot changer on defense.

People said he might have match up problems, has no defense. Zaza is clearly better, etc. When you have Dray opposite of any center, you can never be in a bad match up. If you can get up and get it, you"ll have chances to get it. Warriors don"t lose in the paint.

McGee is has more impact than KD. Don"t get this twisted by thinking I said McGee is better than KD. All I"m saying is that McGee changes this team"s game so much when he comes in that he can single handedly change the game"s outcome by himself. KD does things McGee never can, but the Warriors when they get it going, they don"t need what KD brings. They can totally use what McGee brings any time, on or off.

人們都應該多看看比賽了，小加索爾說的很對，花了這麼長時間別的球隊球迷才通過看數據發現他改變了比賽的走勢。也不是說數據跟比賽是對立的，但是看他打球的話，你會覺得他的數據應該要高很多。

麥基賽季剛開始一個月的時候的表現看起來就很掙扎，當帕楚利亞受傷的時候，他就成了球隊最強的角色球員之一。不難看出他為球隊的進攻端增加了威脅，在防守端也可以干擾別人投籃。

人們都說他有一些對位的問題，沒有單兵防守。帕楚利亞這方面顯然更好等等。但當你有格林可以對上任何中鋒的時候，麥基不管怎樣都不會陷入一個不好的對位。如果你能跳起來去搶板，不管怎樣都有機會拿到籃板的。勇士這樣在禁區就不會吃虧了。

麥基比杜蘭特更有影響。不要把我的話曲解成麥基比杜蘭特強。我說的就是麥基可以改變這隻球隊的比賽方式，當他上場的時候，可以一己之力改變比賽的結果。杜蘭特做得到的事情麥基從來就做不到，但是勇士一旦打得順起來，他們就不那麼需要杜蘭特的產出了。但他們完全可以用得上麥基能夠做到的那些事，不管是場上還是場下。

true. After watching some interviews with him, I rather not hear him speak again. Perhaps he"s so defensive and dickish because he has been made fun of for so long.

Even his biggest cheerleader, Ethan Strauss, said Javale"s not pleasant to deal with for the media, so it"s hard to know how he truly feels.

For the GSW community, he"s been doing really wonderful things, like his turkey give away, reading events with kids, taking poor families out to shop for clothes, etc. It could very likely be the biased media"s impression that we"re seeing.

At the same time, like Tim Bontemps likes to talk about, when he has all this veteran experience and stable, mature environment around him, nudging him in the right direction, that means a helluva lot.

IIRC, Javale"s ADHD is pretty bad, and Adderall or other meds affect him too much, so he doesn"t take anything for it

就算是全世界最大的麥基吹，Ethan Strauss，都說麥基對於媒體來說，對付起來很難受，想要知道他的真實想法太難了。

同時，就像Tim Bontemps喜歡說的那樣，在他身邊能夠有經驗老將，以及身處一個穩定成熟的環境中，促使他朝著正確方向前進，對他來說意義重大

如果我沒記錯，麥基的小兒多動症還挺嚴重的。一些藥物對他產生的影響會太嚴重了，所以他沒有吃任何來治療小兒多動症的葯。
