莫雷竟然可以這樣操作，聯盟前五經理！保羅不愧是工會主席，精明！

This CP3 trade is a masterpiece of abusing the CBA (self.nba)

克里斯-保羅這樁交易是利用勞資協定漏洞的傑作

l 保羅並沒有在決定離開快船後立刻跳出合同，而是等到了截止日期前的最後一天。

l 在總經理/教練/老闆都禁止與球員聯繫的情況下，哈登作為球員是可以的，他完全可以代表球隊通過電話、簡訊給保羅承諾，比如「明年我們會給你頂薪」。

l 勞資協定中並沒有「稅款對等」的條款，所以火箭可以把德州少的6.5%的稅款作為籌碼，儘管在紙上保羅合同的數額會減小，但是少的這些稅是可以實實在在地給到保羅的。

l 這筆交易完美地契合了勞資協定中新添的「38歲規則」，保羅明年假設與火箭簽下5年頂薪合同，則合同最後一年保羅剛好是38歲。

譯註：球隊不能給合同期內年滿38歲的球員提供5年頂薪合同，以避免球員因為退役而造成大量吃空餉的情況。

l 火箭送出了約300萬美元的現金作為匹配合同的薪水，因為他們總薪資仍在工資帽以下。使用這個方法再加上將幾位球員打包來換保羅，就能讓陣容少失去一些天賦。假如不使用現金作為替代，火箭付出的球員薪金總額就應是1780萬，而現在他們付出的球員薪資總額便只需要1570萬就夠了。如果要添足1780萬，火箭在現在的基礎上，還得搭上阿里扎或者戈登。

l 相對地，快船也只吃下了總額1570萬的合同，而不是原來的1780萬，這給他們騰出了更多的薪金空間。

l 這就是在管理層中必須要有律師在的原因

CP3 didn"t chose to opt out immediately after the clippers were eliminated and was waiting till the last possible day

While GM/coaches/owners aren"t allowed to talk to players, Harden as a player is free to talk to him and call relay certain messages like "we will offer the max next year

The CBA has no tax-equalization so Houston was able to leverage the ~6.5% tax rate to actually give CP3 more money despite it counting less on the sheet.

This perfectly lines up with the new over 38 rule as Pauls 5th year of his max will be his age 38 season.

The Rockets acquired ~3m worth of salary for cash considerations because they were under the cap. The salary was then immediately combined with the rockets players to help them get CP3 while losing less talent. They needed to send out 17.8m in salary to get CP3 but they really only sent out 15.7m in contracts that they had before. To get to that 17.8m they would have had to trade one of Ariza/Gordon.

Reversly the clippers only take 15.7m in contracts back, instead of a higher number, giving them more cap room.

This is why lawyers have positions in front offices.

If there is a loophole in the CBA, Morey will find it and abuse it before any one even finds out about it.

He did it with the "poison pill" contract he used to steal Asik and Lin from the Bulls and Knicks. He does it with backward protected picks.

He is a CBA wizard.

Poison Pill is tough to explain, I"ll let another poster do that. But backwards protection is like the BOS-PHI trade.

PHI traded the 2018 LAL pick if it fell between 2 and 5. But Boston is protected against getting a bad pick from the Lakers (if they happen to be good)

Morey started it when he traded Lowry to the raptors. The pick was protected from 1-3 and the 15+ so it"s a guaranteed lottery pick. He used that pick to trade for harden

76人把來自湖人的2018年的首輪簽給了凱爾特人，但這個選秀權只有在2-5順位才能給，也就是說，凱爾特人不會從湖人那得到一個太差的選秀權（如果明年湖人剛好非常出色的話）。

莫雷在當年把洛瑞送到猛龍時開創了這個「向後保護」選秀權。那個選秀權是前三順位和15順位以後受保護的，所以這是個有保證的樂透簽。之後他用這個簽做籌碼之一，交易來了哈登。

NBA teams are unable to offer first/second year players that are RFA more than the mid-level exception in the first year of a contract, and the second year of the contract cannot be more than a 4.5% raise. However, there"s no restriction on the third year (except that the average of the three years must fit under the cap all three years).

Morey"s "poison pill" was the action of loading the last year of a player"s contract with the bulk of the salary earned over the course of the salary - a massive raise over Y1 and Y2.

YEAR 1 - $5M

YEAR 2 - $5.25M

YEAR 3 - $15M

...making it "harder to swallow" for his current team"s GM. Sure, Morey has to swallow the pill, but he has the player he wanted.

It will be interesting how they play together. The biggest factor I see is it allows Harden to attack rotations off of CP3/Capella pNr and allows him to get more spot up opportunities vs. all those off the dribble/pull up 3"s. Harden might get more efficient... The Warriors plan was to shut everyone down, and force Harden to take a tough shot or make him finish over several people. CP3 can help take some load off.

Another interesting tidbit is whether Morey will allow CP3 to take his mid range shots since he"s so good at them. Morey might have realized that his all rim/3 strategy made them too predictable in the playoffs. CP3 taking more 3"s is a good thing imo, he"s super underrated as a shooter. It will come down to defensive effort and scheme imo if they will have a shot against the Warriors.

看這支火箭打球肯定很有意思。我發現的最重要的一點便是：哈登能夠在保羅和卡佩拉打擋拆的時候找准對方輪換防守的空隙進攻，並得到更多空位定點投籃的機會，而不像上賽季那樣全部都是運球突破/干拔三分。他的效率估計會更高…勇士打火箭的戰術就是封鎖其他人，讓哈登去投一些高難度球，或者讓哈登扎進人堆里完成投籃。保羅的到來可以減輕哈登的負擔。

另一件有趣的事，就是莫雷會不會允許保羅投中距離，畢竟這是保羅吃飯的手藝。莫雷也許已經意識到，只投近框球和三分球的策略在季後賽很容易被針對防守。在我看來，保羅多投三分是件好事，他的投籃能力被嚴重低估了。下賽季火箭再打勇士，在我看來想要贏的關鍵便在於他們的防守計劃以及在這一端的努力程度。

It"s not abusing, it"s literally playing exactly by the rules. CP3, Hou and Clippers (instead of losing for nothing) are better off. No losers imo

這不是濫用規則，而是實實在在地按規矩辦事。保羅、火箭、快船（至少沒有空手而歸）都得了好處。我覺得在這樁交易里，沒有輸家。
