2017 the 8th China International Posters Biennial

* 中國國際海報雙年展創辦於2003年，是中華人民共和國文化部批准的文化交流項目。雙年展依託國際知名藝術設計教育機構——中國美術學院作為學術與平台支持，每逢奇數年舉辦，已成功舉辦七屆，是目前中國唯一舉辦的海報雙年展，也是國際平面設計領域學術水平最高的海報展覽之一。

中國國際海報雙年展即將迎來第八屆。與往屆不同的是，今年的活動形式改為邀請展，以「海報共生」為主題，將邀請來自世界各地的100餘位設計師的海報作品參加此次活動。作品涉及文化與藝術、商業與市場、人類生存與自我主張等各個領域。本屆雙年展活動不設獎項評選，屆時將同期舉辦設計交流和與對話活動。

海報設計發展到今天，設計語境的多元化和技術媒介的革新為海報設計的進化增添了前所未有的可能性。一方面，我們相信堅守傳統海報設計中所蘊含的設計語言與信息表達變得愈發重要；另一方面，我們也希望通過更新設計手段和設計思維積極地回應全球設計發展的趨勢。因此，「海報共生」不僅是不同地域和文化間的對話，傳統與現代的激撞，更是定位當下的坐標，積極的探索和驅動海報設計的未來。

2017 the 8th China International Posters Biennial

Established in 2003, China International Poster Biennial Expo (CIPB) is a cultural exchange program authorized by the Ministry of Culture of the People』s Republic of China. With the academic and platform support from China Academy of Art, the world renowned education institution for art and design, CIPB has been held for 7 times in each odd-number year since its establishment. It is the only biennial expo of posters in China and is one of the international graphic design exhibitions with the highest academic standard.

Themed by 「Posters Living with Difference」, the 8th CIPB in 2017 will exhibit the works of more than 100 designers invited from all over the world. The works cover multiple fields including culture and art, business and market, human existence and assertions, etc. Instead of selection for awards, the 8th CIPB will be joined by design communication and dialogue activities.

Nowadays, the diversification of design context and the innovation of technologies have enriched the possibilities of poster design to an unprecedented extent. For one thing, we believe that it is becoming increasingly important to stick with the design language and information expression in traditional posters. For another, we do hope that updating design techniques and thinking may allow us to respond positively to the world』s developing trend of designing art. Therefore, "Posters Living with Difference」 is not only a dialogue among different regions and cultures and a collision between tradition and modernity, but also a reminder of where we are, enabling us to better explore and drive the development of poster design.
