Can"t trade a player on an extend-and-trade ineligible contract for 6 months after extending them. He would only be trade eligible if they signed him to a 3 year deal with 5% raises over his rookie salary, which obviously they wouldn"t get him to agree to.

He can sign that 5 year max with whatever team he gets traded to, you can"t sign a guy to a big extension then ship them out immediately.
