DESIGN CONCEPT

由32 MQ設計團隊傾力打造的COCO復古小酒館位於倫敦中部的東南方約64公里的富裕小鎮KENT。為食客帶來異域皇家風情的就餐體驗。

Designed by 32 mq, TheCoco Retro bistro brings French flair to Royal Tunbridge Wells, a largeaffluent town in Kent, about 64 km south-east of central London.

每一層擁有不同的主題風格。一樓是一個非正式的、輕鬆的餐廳。二樓優雅時尚皇家餐廳；地下酒窖（正在開發）是專門為業主收藏的酒。

The brief was to create different inspiring places for each floor of the building for three differentdining experiences. The ground floor is an informal and relaxed brasserie; thefirst floor – an elegant and stylish Royal restaurant; and the lower groundwine cellar (currently under development) is dedicated to the wine collectionof the owner.

客人通過一層的酒吧區，映入眼帘的是一個圓形的黃銅櫃檯；牆面、天花使用木質結構，黑白棋盤的地板，營造輕鬆的飲酒氛圍。牆面的造型中隱約可見原有的紅磚牆，天花板懸掛著圓形燈飾。

Guests enter through alobby-bar area marked by a circular shiny brass counter that appears as a hugecolumn dominating the space. A black and white checkerboard floor leads througha woody and glassy screen from the bar to the brasserie. Here the existingbrick walls has been left exposed between shelves and dark wooden panels thatbend to form the ceiling from which lighting is suspended.

一層漆黑的樓梯通向二樓，有一種豁然開朗的明亮，與底層的憂鬱的氣氛形成鮮明對比。這裡的空間使用白色木柱分離現有的壁爐區和餐廳的其餘部分。現有的天花板已被拆除，以顯示屋頂原始結構。雙高給人一種垂直方向的延伸感。一個黑白定製的三角形圖案的地板給人一種現代感，一個浪漫的空間通過水平的窗口面對火車站時鐘。

A dark-black staircaseleads to the first floor which is bright and brilliant in contrast with themoody and saturated atmosphere of the ground floor. The space here is gentlydivided with a light timber column screen frame, separating the existingfireplace area from the rest of the restaurant. The existing ceiling has beenremoved to show the roof structure. The double height space is crossed bypendant lightings through the timber beams, giving a vertical orientation tothe space. A black and white custom made triangular patterned flooring gives atouch of modernity to a space that romantically faces the train station clockthrough a horizontal leaded window.

側牆裝飾的剪影再現街景，增加了一個有趣的親密接觸區。這些插圖源於與當地藝術家克里斯·布爾克的合作。

The side wall have were decoratedby silhouettes reproducing street scenes, adding a touch of playful intimacy tothe tables area. These illustrations were born from the collaboration with thelocal artist Chris Burke.

We take an active approach to the creative design process, developing ideas through sketches,models and conversation. We collaborate with clients through the buildingprocess taking an iterative approach from concept design to construction continually testing and refining the design. We work collaborate with localcontractors, craftsman and suppliers to pursue the successful completion of theproject.

目前正在開發的項目包括翻新倫敦公寓，以及Royal Tunbridge Wells的Coco Retro小酒館的新酒窖。

Projects currently indevelopment include refurbishing a London apartment and a new wine cellar forthe Coco Retro bistro in Royal Tunbridge Wells.
