「天才」是如何煉成的？

今天Faye給大家聊一聊「天才」的話題。大家一定記得從小就背誦的名言。Genius is one percent inspiration and ninety-nine percent perspiration.

Faye今天就來告訴大家如何正確誇讚身邊的有才人，並且帶大家從10部天才人物傳記電影中，領略不一樣的人生！

「天才」的表達

genius過人的才華，天分；天才

a very high level of intelligence, mental skill or artistic ability, which only a few

people have.

sb who has unusually high level of intelligence, mental skill or artistic ability

prodigy神童

a young person who is extremely smart or good at doing sth

genius有兩層含義，既可以指有特殊才華的天才（人），也可以指才華（物）。

片語: have a genius for sth，在...有才華

prodigy專指有才華的年輕人。

「聰穎」的表達

clever聰明的

able to use your intelligence to do sth, especially in a slightly dishonest way

showing ability or skill, especially at making things or finding new ways to do

things

smart聰明的；明智的

intelligent

using to say a good decision or plan which shows good judgement or thinking

bright聰明的；前途大好的

（person）intelligent and likely to be successful

（future）likely to be successful

clever有兩層含義。一方面有貶義的意味，表示「小聰明」。另一方面的「聰明」，指在製作或者創新方面的造詣。

smart既可以指人「聰明的」，也可以指決定或者計劃「明智的」。

bright一方面指人「聰明的，有前途的」。也可以指事業，未來的「前途光明」，如a bright future。

在指人的「聰明」這個層面，clever，smart，bright與intelligent可以互換。

intelligent聰明的，有智慧的

having a high level of ability to learn, understand and think about things（quick in mind）

intellectual聰明的，有知識的

well educated and interested in subjects that need lots of study

intelligent指思維敏捷的人；

intellectual指有鑽研精神，受過良好教育的知識分子

「有才華」的表達

talented有才華的

having a very good natural ability or skill in a particular activity

gifted有才華的

having a natural ability to do one or more things extremely well

兩者基本意思相同，可以互換。gifted比talented褒義更強。

learned博學的，有學問的

having a lot of knowledge because you have read and studied a lot

versatile多才多藝的

good at doing a lot of different things and able to learn new skills quickly and

easily

「有名的」表達

famous有名的

known about or recognized by a lot of people

相關表達:

world-famous世界聞名的

famous last words（某人的）預言，多用於口語表達

【used when sb has said too confidently that they can do sth or sth will happen】

中考的學生需要區分:

be famous for（因...著名）與be famous as（作為...著名）

well-known熟知的

known by a lot of people

celebrated有名的

famous or talked about a lot

三者中famous為最大眾化的用法。famous與celebrated意思基本相同，可互換。

famous與well-known意思相近。但well-known更強調在特定的群體範圍內，或者因為某個技能或成就出名。

distinguished有名的

very successful and therefore respected and admired（in science and arts）

renowned有名的

famous and admired by a lot of people, especially for a particular quality or characteristic

prestigious有名望的

admired as one of the best and most important

notorious臭名昭著的

famous or well-known for sth bad

以上幾個詞都是famous的高級用法。

renowned強調在某個特點或性狀上特別突出。

distinguished的有名，注重用於藝術和科學領悟。

prestigious的有名到出類拔萃。

notorious指因壞事出名。

「天才」人物的相關電影

The ImitationGame《模仿遊戲》

卷福飾演的又一天才式人物，「計算機科學之父」-Alan Turing。在二戰中破譯德軍密碼而幫助盟軍取得勝利。本片再現他的功績和個人生活。卷福在英國讀書活動Letters Live中也讀了Turing的信件。其中提到了Turing lies with men，一語雙關。在那個年代，同性戀還沒有被認同的他，晚年受到了身體的摧殘和精神的迫害。

Theory of Everything《萬物理論》

正是這部電影讓Faye領略到小雀斑同學的出色演技。他細心揣摩人物心態，模仿人物動作神態，將各個階段的Stephen Hawking表演得惟妙惟肖。尤其是電影的後半部分有一個細節。在新聞發布會上，回答記者問時，他想像自己像正常人一樣輕鬆站立，流利講話。可以體會到他內心的孤獨，渴望被認可與尊重。在物理學界，他的理論確實得到了認可與尊重。還記得他把汪峰叔叔打敗，發布第一條微博上頭條的消息嗎？

博弈論創立者John Nash的人生經歷。凡是有才華的人，都會有些與世俗格格不入。有個性而不被人接受。承受孤獨而性格古怪。唯有靈魂是高尚的，思想是超前的，情感是豐富的。他的妻子不離不棄，幫助他擺脫精神分裂的病痛。家人的關愛是成功的重要基石。該影片也成為當年奧斯卡最大贏家。

Genius《天才捕手》

「千里馬常有，而伯樂不常有」。默默無聞的Thomas Wolfe，在天才編輯Max Perkins的幫助下，實現自己的大作家夢想。片中也提及美國同時代的其他大作家，如Ernest Hemingway，Francis Scott Fitzgerald。該片集中了大牌演員裘花，科叔，Nicole等。文藝范兒十足，文學氣息濃厚。

The Man Who Knew Infinity《知無涯者》

根據印度天才數學家Ramanujan真實事迹改編。雖家境貧困，但天資聰慧，勤奮鑽研，對數學研究滿腔熱情，成就了他的數學王國。男主的飾演者正是Slumdog Millionaire的小哥。不過，作為數學白痴的Faye，看到如此這般，這般如此的一大堆數學公式，就已經哭暈在了廁所。

The Talented Mr. Ripley《天才雷普利》

那些年Damon叔還是青蔥少年一枚。主人公Ripley對金錢，名利的無限慾望，而走火入魔，一步步走向自我毀滅的道路。電影的名稱有些嘲諷的意味。如果他的聰明才智總在正途，一定會有一番作為。本片casting陣容強大。劇情情節設計扣人心弦，結尾出乎意料。值得一看。

Catch Me If You Can《貓鼠遊戲》

不折騰的人生不是完美的人生。小李子飾演的少年天才Frank，成功躲避FBI的追捕，偽造支票，騙取錢財。小小年紀，經歷豐富。當過泛美的飛行員，冒充資深醫生，取得律師從業資格。印象最深的是父親講得那個mouse與cream的故事:

Two little mice fell in a bucket of cream. The first mouse quickly gave up and drowned. The second mouse, wouldn"t quit. He struggled so hard that eventually he churned that cream into butter and crawled out. Gentlemen, as of this moment, I am that second mouse.

Frank父親的飾演者Christopher Walken憑藉此片中出色的演出，獲得當年奧斯卡最佳男配提名。

記得這部電影被Faye當做練習聽力口語的好材料，反覆聽好多遍。

Pawn Sacrifice《出棋制勝》

美國國際象棋大師Bobby Fischer的傳記電影。再現美蘇冷戰時期，象棋界爭霸的盛況。電影中每一次比賽都扣人心弦。觀看電影亦可以了解國際象棋的規則。Tobey Maguire也將這位傳奇人物的生活，比賽形象地呈現與觀眾面前。

Whiplash《爆裂鼓手》

「吃得苦中苦，方為人上人」。片中的男主人公Andrew憑藉自己的天賦和努力，使自己成長為一個出色的爵士樂鼓手。而片中男主的導師Fletcher，讓Faye十分反感。主要是顛覆傳統方式的批判摧毀式教學模式以及太多的侮辱性的語言。There are no two words in the English language more harmful than good job. 可見他的教育觀點與傳統的讚揚式教育完全相反。本片劇情進展迅速，結果出其不意。

Rain Man《雨人》

1988年的老片。Dustin Hoffman攜手Tom Cruise演繹兄弟情深。自閉症的哥哥具有驚人的記憶力。Dustin Hoffman將偏執敏感的哥哥演繹的非常到位。

Sherlock Series《神探夏洛克》系列

目前為止是four seasons，每季three episodes。記得是一個短假期，Faye用了兩整天的時間，將12集一氣看完，爽翻天！夏洛克與華生基情滿滿，笑點多多。記得華生求婚時說的經典語錄，可以為單身男士追求女孩時的範本:The problem of your past is your business, the problem of your future is my privilege.

而卷福說的There is nothing more deceptive than an obvious fact .則道出了Sherlock追求真相的執著精神。
