然而我們中國農曆新年是有著許多傳統習俗的活動，其中許多是富有祝福或是寓意的，而這些故事又該如何用生活英語介紹給外國朋友呢？
其實只要運用最常識的理解，中國新年對外國人來說不外乎就是「農曆新年Chinese New Year」，是「一年之中最重要的節日the most important holiday of the year」，與過年最主要的活動「年夜飯reunion dinner」等三個重點，所以只需知道這幾個重點的關鍵字句，也就能用三句簡單的生活英語向外國朋友們講中國年的故事啦！
介紹春節可以這樣說：
Chinese New Year is the most important public holiday of the year for Chinese people. Like Christmas in the West, it"s a time for family reunion. People who work far away from home would travel back to reunite with their families, which also brings about the biggest migration in China every year, as we call it ChunYun.中國新年對每一個中國人來說是一年之中最重要的公共節日，就像西方的聖誕節。新年是中國人團聚的日子。在外工作的人都要在新年前趕回家與家人團聚。每年這一時期也會出現中國最大的人口遷徙，就是我們稱作的春運 。
春節最常見的兩個詞：Spring Festival 和 Chinese New Year. 其實都是可以的。
Spring Festival採用的是字面翻譯法，即春天的節日，中國新年同時也意味著「春天」的到來; 很多對中國一無所知的老外可能會以為是春天的某個節日；
Chinese New Year則對外國友人來說更有畫面的想像。因為1月1日是New Year. 而春節是中國特色的新年，所以加了一個民族屬性：Chinese. 所以更接地氣一點；
有時候也把春節叫做：Lunar New Year. 即農曆的新年。因為lunar這個詞表示的就是『農曆的』；所以日曆叫calendar, 農曆則為lunar calendar. 也可以這樣說：Chinese New Year falls on the first day of the first month on the lunar calendar. 春節是農曆第一個月的第一天，即正月初一。
春節前「活動」可以這樣說
It』s the busiest time before Chinese New Year, people not only go New Year shopping, but also do a whole house cleaning and put up red couplets on windows and doors to decorate the house.過年前是大家最忙碌的時刻，不只要辦年貨、大掃除，還會在門窗上貼春聯裝飾房子。
過年前應該是家家戶戶最忙碌的時刻了，除舊布新的概念至今仍根深蒂固，象徵著到了年末將過去不好的事情通通掃去，在新的一年將會贏來更好的生活

春節重頭戲
Family members get together on Chinese New Year』s Eve to have reunion dinner and celebrate the upcoming year.在除夕夜當天，一家人會聚在一起吃年夜飯並慶祝即將到來的新年。
There are many dishes in reunion dinner. But the must-to-have is fish. The pronunciation in Mandarin for fish is 「yu」 and sounds like the word 「extra」 in Chinese. It means 「wishing everyone to have more than enough year after year」.年夜飯有許多道菜，但其中一定要魚，中文的「魚」聽起來有「多出來」的意思，代表祝福「年年有餘」。
過年的重頭戲非年夜飯莫屬，而且餐桌上一定要有魚。

春節最熱衷的活動
On Chinese New Year』s Eve, parents and the elders give red envelopes with money in to children and the youngers.除夕夜，父母和長輩會發紅包給孩子和年輕人。
As a return, children stay up the night till the New Year Day comes to wish their parents health and longevity.孩子們則會守歲作為回報，祝福父母健康長壽。
When the New Year clock strikes, people set off fireworks for celebration which symbolize getting rid of bad lucks and bringing in the good ones.當新年到來的那一刻，最重要的就是放鞭炮慶祝，同時也代表著趕走厄運並迎新納福。
And from the first day of the New Year, many people will go to the temple to worship God or ancestors for good fortune. Also, some people will make a visit to relatives and friends or go traveling to enjoy the New Year holidays.而且從新年的第一天開始，許多人會去廟裡拜拜祈福。此外，有多人也會向親友拜年或者旅遊度假來歡度新年假期。

若要用英文邏輯解釋紅包就等同於 「lucky money」或「new year』s money」。而prosperity有「發達、興隆」的意思；wealth則是「財富、富有」，可更加凸顯中國「發財」中興旺的含意。
