項目位於深圳蛇口海邊的海上藝術中心，這座優美的白色建築出自日本建築大師楨文彥之手。項目擁有長達24米的建築幕牆立面，室內設計如何與建築優雅融洽又不失特色，這使我們在接到設計任務時無比興奮又頗感挑戰。

The project sits inside a beautiful white building that is the Shekou Sea World Culture and Arts Center in Shenzhen,China, designed by the world renowned Japanese architect Fumihiko Maki.  Staged behind a 24-meter long building curtain wall facade, the interior design strives to harmonize with the eleganceof the architecture without losing its own unique character. With this in mind,the design task at hand becomes especially exciting and challenging.

項目平面呈凸字形排布，我們選擇沿戶外靠近海岸的長條空間作為咖啡及知識分享區，凸出的方形作為藝術空間，鏈接海上文化中心中庭。顧客由建築中庭進入純白的藝術空間，戶外自然光透過高而窄的弧形門洞指引顧客前往探索，穿過門洞，挑高6米的全落地窗大空間躍然眼前。

The project has a convex configuration inplan. We lined the edge of the long facade overlooking the sea coast with cafeand knowledge sharing areas, while turning the adjacent protruding square zoneinto a pure white art space.  The latter"sadjacency and connection to the atrium of the Sea World Culture Arts Centerallows the atrium to conveniently serve as its entry foyer.  Daylight guides the visitor through a highand narrow arc-shaped passage to a gateway that opens up dramatically to a6-meter high space with floor-to-ceiling glass.

 沒有背景音樂的有聲咖啡館

Cafewith sound instead of background music

區別於傳統咖啡店的慵懶背景音樂，我們能聽到時而磅礴時而細密的海浪聲，來自於空中懸掛的藝術家作品「海浪」，這是一件通過採集世界各個海域海浪聲以鋼珠晃動碰撞呈現的新媒體藝術裝置。側牆面則有大型LED屏幕同步播放海域音響，給人視覺聽覺的雙重撞擊。

Different from traditional cafe with lazy background music, in ours one can hear the sometimes magnificent and detailedsound of the waves coming from an art installation suspended in space, aptlytitled, "Waves".   The installation contains a new media art device involving the sloshing of steel beads tore create the sound of waves from around the world.  The side wall displays a large LED screen that immerses the room simultaneously in sight and sound of the seas,redoubling the sensory impact.

空中懸浮著10個巨大發光圓盤，靈感來自於設計師兒時的記憶，坐在窗邊看雨水打在水塘中泛起的層層漣漪，因時間的推移呈現出大小不一的圓圈，意圖抓住這個瞬間與大家分享。

Also conspicuously suspended in space areten luminous, oversized discs.  They are inspired by the designer"s memory as a child, sitting by the window and watching the rain scatter ripples of varying sizes all over the outdoor pond.   Now with a larger pond outside the cafe, so to speak, we hope to seize and share that timeless moment insensory abstraction.

夜色中，落地窗後的懸浮發光燈盤格外醒目，倒映在戶外靜水池中。

In darkness, the luminescent pendant lampsbehind the floor-to-ceiling window are particularly eye-catching, especially their reflection in the stillness of the outdoor pool.

吧台以銀色不鏽鋼燈帶勾勒，懸吊於上方的鏡面不鏽鋼盒子藏住各種設備同時映射出空間圓盤；廚房以半透漸變玻璃包裹形成一個發光盒子。

Suspended on the upper mirror where a stainless steel box conceals a variety of equipment, the silver stainless steel LED strip light illuminates the space disks. The kitchen is wrapped in semi-permeable gradient glass to form a lightbox.

 「反連鎖的連鎖」

抬高的區域以豎紋玻璃與金屬網圍合形成半私密空間，當場地轉化為知識沙龍時，金屬框架落下投影幕，抬高區域成為專家們的講台。

Elevated area with vertically ribbed glassand metal mesh to form a semi-private space. When the venue transforms into a knowledge salon, the metal frame dropsthe projection screen, the raised platform converts into a speaker"s podium.

開放式的大空間與可移動拼接的傢具為運營業態帶來無限可能性，咖啡餐飲、講座沙龍、藝術展覽、沉浸式戲劇表演都能一一滿足。

Large expansive open spaces, along withmoveable, attachable furniture, bring flexibility and unlimited possibilitiesto the project"s function and operation, among them:  cafe, F&B, seminar salons, artexhibitions and immersive theater performances.

空間與業態的隨時可變、設計呈現的因地制宜是補時作為「反連鎖的連鎖」的重要性能，我們在補時上海第一家店便充分考慮了空間的靈活性，並因現場條件及定位需求採用不同的設計語言和手法表現。

Spatial and functional flexibility, as wellas adaptability of design to local conditions, combine to reinforce ExtraTime"s hallmark as an "anti-franchise franchise".   To that end, we created the brand"s first store in Shanghai with spatial flexibility as a baseline, while the design language and techniques customized to reflect site conditions and business positioning found their way to a fresh new expression.  Along the way, the designers of Extra Time"sShanghai store on Changde Road turned the abandoned basement into a "mined"underground space, characterized by rustic exposed concrete wall finishes thatcollide and contrast with contemporary reflective materials, as well aslight-emitting film that interrupted the basement with the dull sense of dreariness of the industrial underground.  

（上海補時咖啡影院，三位主創設計師為補時打造的地下空間）設計師在補時上海常德路店，強調地下空間質樸粗礦的混凝土牆面與現代高亮反光材質的衝撞對比，引入發光膜打破地下室給人固有的陰暗沉悶感。

Along the way, the designers of ExtraTime"s Shanghai store on Changde Road turned the abandoned basement into a "mined"underground space, characterized by rustic exposed concrete wall finishes thatcollide and contrast with contemporary reflective materials, as well aslight-emitting film that interrupted the basement with the dull sense of dreariness of the industrial underground.  

XU Studio為補時海上文化中心店特別定製了Frame系列餐桌，概念來源於用最簡單的金屬框架支撐木桌面，通過左右5cm的錯位，自然形成間隔互不干擾，又在需要時可以鏈接成大長桌。

XU Studio has specially customized the Frame series table for Extra Time at Sea World Culture and Arts Center. The concept consists of a simple metal frame supporting a simple wooden tabletop.   A misalignment of approximately 5cm allows for natural breaks between tables.  However, when needed, the tables can join upto instantly and seamlessly form a longer table.
