Yan』an. A name heard by billions but few have set foot. A city of red glory and red fury, a stronghold that made China what it is today.

延安。知其名者數不勝數，但真正踏上這片土地的人並不多。正是這塊紅色的堡壘，孕育了今天的中國。

Once upon a time, it was a place of desolation; high up in the Loess Plateau, devoid of animals and vegetation, it was used as the impenetrable fortress by the Red Army and a staging point to build a new China.

曾經這是一片荒土，一塊黃土高坡上易守難攻的的貧瘠之地。正因如此，紅軍在此紮根並建立了新中國。

But the Yan』an we see today is a place of passion, culture, nature, and miracles.

然而今天的延安是充滿激情、文化、自然的奇蹟之鄉。

延安的美食多以羊肉、玉米為基礎—這裡只有機會展示其中一兩樣，畢竟光顧著吃，忘了拍了。另外，更想要展現的是延安的奇蹟。

Lamb and corn make the staple of the local cuisine. Yet the busy and hungry traveler only remembered to take pictures of just a few of the dishes. Then again, the point of this piece is to show the miracle that is Yan』an.

泥灣。「爛泥灣」被改造成了黃土高坡小江南。如今仍然盛產糧食。

Nanniwan. From a stinking swamp to a crop-yielding farmland, it was transformed 80 years ago to turn Yan』an into a self-sufficient fort, and it continues to produce even today.

中國人都知道的延安寶塔山。

另一個奇蹟就是黃土高坡。這些年的綠化工作已經將高坡荒地變成了植被覆蓋的高原。

The Loess Plateau. This miracle of a reforestation project has turned the once-barren plateau into green highlands.

A final miracle is the city itself. Rests in the valleys and hills of a Yellow River branch, the city was once nearly devoid of transportation, but now, highways, roads, airplanes, ships, and high-speed railway all make this city easy-to-access. Moreover, its own infrastructure and economic developments are astounding.

最大的奇蹟就是延安市。曾經與世隔絕的一座城，今天有水陸空三維航線，高鐵離西安也不算很遠。基礎建設經濟發展更是不在話下。
