Off the Beaten Track 人們不常去的地方

beaten：被打敗了的；筋疲力竭的；踏平的。

track：軌道；足跡，蹤跡；小道。

beat有一個意思是「反覆踩踏出一條路」，比如a well-beaten track的意思就是「常有人走（而被人踏平）的路」，如果這條路在某家店的門口，那麼這家店一定極受歡迎，生意火爆，如果這條路在某個旅遊地，那麼這個地方一定是極其熱鬧，遊客比肩接踵，因此喜歡清靜，喜歡感受當地文化的人便會離開（off）這樣的地方，去往不同尋常的所在，即off the beaten track。
