提問：為了突出重點，學習時增強記憶，我喜歡在上師的書上劃重點、做記號。可是有些大德說，在法本上這樣做有很大罪過。請示上師，我們能不能在法本上劃重點、做記號呢？感恩上師！

上師答：有必要，沒有不恭敬的心態，為了使功德圓滿，必要時做下記號，劃一下，應該沒有過失。如果有不恭敬的心，隨便劃、隨便扔，就有過失。主要看自己的心。

Question: In order to make it emphasized and help me remember better, I』d like to highlight or mark in guru』s books. However, some of the masters say that there』s big fault for what I did on the Guru』s book. I』d like to consult Guru, can we highlight and mark in the Dharma books? Thank you!

Guru answers: It』s necessary to do for there is no irreverent mind. In order to complete one』s merit, make highlights and mark a line as necessary, there is no fault. There are faults if you scribble or throw casually without respect. Mainly look at your mind.
