你翻譯得多也只是在個人水平內熟練而已

「能力第一」是若干年前我為一個翻譯公司培養譯員時喊的一個口號。對翻譯來講，能力是第一位的。有個學員曾經問我（大意）：「我翻譯了200多萬字，但CATTI二級考試只得了不到50分。我還需要翻譯多少萬字就能及格了？」我當時的回答（大意）：「你翻譯的字數不少了。但如果你的翻譯之後沒有老外和高翻幫你改動和審稿，你翻譯多也只是你在個人水平內熟練而已。」

這裡發表一些「之後」的改動稿，以求幫助大家提高能力。

什麼是宇宙？

What is the Universe?

人們最難理解的莫過於宇宙這個名詞，並且不知道該如何準確的領會、感受、適從這個字眼兒。

漫漫夜空，群星燦爛。人類從蒙昧的童年時代，就對上天的浩瀚充滿疑惑。宇宙，堪稱是地球與生命的締造者，但卻它始終聳立在重重奧秘之上。使得人類對宇宙的探尋始終執著。對宇宙的提問，不僅是所有時代、所有民族共同的話題，更始終是一種神聖的嚮往。

歲月流轉至今，西方科學家不僅發明了用精密的儀器延伸自己的觀望，用宇宙探測器來尋找地外生命的蹤影，還取得了登臨月球，勘探火星的先進科技，獲取了從太陽系裡的另外一個空間俯瞰地球的非凡角度。這些成就，豐碑般地記錄了人類文明的歷史步伐，是全人類可以共享的驕傲。
