Remembering Kofi Annan

We live in a world, and at an uncertain time, when we require not just elected politicians, but state figures who exercise authentic and effective moral leadership. I remember Kofi Annan who died on Saturday, our interview in 2015, and a turbulent period of history he oversaw as UN Secretary-General from the 9/11 attacks to the emergence of SARS. Meanwhile, negotiators from the U.S. and China prepare to meet for a new round of talks as the trade war rumbles on. But before they identify ways forward, they first need to identify a common base they can agree to work-off, including one important question: how large (or small) is the trade deficit?
