喬丹的彈跳和扣籃「教壞」了孩子們？庫里的影響方式是超遠三分

邁克爾-喬丹曾在1997年表示，NBA對他彈跳和扣籃的大肆宣傳影響了小孩子們練基本功，因為孩子們總是在模仿他，而不是專註於投籃和防守。

Michael Jordan said in 1997 that the NBA"s marketing of his jumping and dunking hurt young kids" fundamental skills, because they imitated him instead of focusing on shooting and defense.

From Hoop magazine, April 1997:

Q: There has been a theory expressed that the young, high-flying Michael Jordan had such a great influence on kids that shooting skills and fundamentals aren"t as strong any more. Kids tried to imitate your jumping and dunking, rather than your shooting and defense, and as a result, the shooting skills of young players isn"t as great as it used to be. What are your feelings on that?

提問：有這麼一種說法，說年輕時期那個在空中打球的邁克爾-喬丹在孩子們心中產生了巨大的影響，以至於現在孩子們的投籃技術和基本功都不再那麼紮實了。孩子們試著模仿你的起跳和扣籃，而不是你的投籃和防守，結果，年輕球員們的投籃技術不再像以往的球員那般精湛了。你怎麼看？

Jordan: I don"t think it was Michael Jordan. I think it was the exposure of Michael Jordan; the marketing of Michael Jordan. Everything was marketed towards the things that people wanted to see, which was scoring and dunking. That Michael Jordan still played defense and an all-around game, but it was never really publicized.

喬丹：我不覺得是邁克爾-喬丹的鍋。我覺得問題在於「邁克爾-喬丹」的曝光度和市場營銷。一切的一切都針對大眾希望看到的那個方向在宣傳，就是得分和扣籃。邁克爾-喬丹仍舊在防守，有著非常全面的技術，但是這從來都沒有真的被大肆宣傳。

I think if you want to blame me for some of that, you have to blame a lot of people. We have the dunking contest at the All-Star Game and things like that. That was the type of thing that was promoted then, unlike now, when the league is promoting a lot of other aspects of the game. I think we all have to take a little credit for the way we promoted the game.

He was so massive that a pro league in another country basically went from niche to mainstream. Basketball basically became mainstream in Australia because there was so much hype around Jordan (and the NBA in general) that our own NBL went through one of its most popular stages ever - only in the past year or two has it been back to the levels of popularity it"s been since 92/93.

That"s actually really interesting. I know Curry has said the same thing about shooting 3s and how he doesn"t want young kids shooting from so far because it actually hurts their fundamentals.

I think it"ll always be a problem. Kids want to imitate their favorite stars but the stars are the elite of the elite. They"re skipping tons of steps when trying to imitate.

Perhaps not known widely, but many people blame the And1 mixtapes for destroying Chinese basketball development. When those came out, Chinese basketball kids just tried to emulate And1 moves, similar to kids jacking up 3s now due to Curry. There was an actual effort at camps, etc by sneaker brands to reverse the "damage" by And1 in China.

可能知道的人並不多，但是很多人都在指責And1集錦毀了中國籃球的發展。這套美國街頭籃球錄影帶出版後，中國打籃球的孩子們就只去試著模仿裡面的動作了，就像現在的小孩兒因為庫里而出手大量三分一樣。在中國，真的是靠一些運動鞋品牌所舉辦的訓練營所做出的的努力才彌補了AND1所造成的「損害」。
