光緒元寶是清朝光緒年間流通的貨幣之一。由湖北兩廣總督張之洞率先引進英國鑄幣機器鑄造銀元和銅元，之後各省紛紛仿效。共有十九個省局鑄造，除中央戶部，地方省所鑄銅元，皆在其正面上緣鐫寫省名。光緒元寶是大清光緒年流通大面值貨幣之首，是我國首批引進海外技術的印發流通貨幣，對於現今也蘊藏了一定歷史意義。

史載「光緒元寶」當時共十九個省局鑄造。除中央戶部，地方省所鑄銅元，皆在其正面上緣鐫寫省名。計有：戶部、北洋、湖北、江南、河南、 湖南、江西、山東、廣東、清江、浙江、江蘇、四川、福建、安徽、吉林、奉天、廣西、新疆、黑龍江。光緒元寶，作為近代錢幣中的精美鑄幣，其確實風格獨特，文化內涵豐富，是不可 多得的珍稀之品。

1.此組藏品光緒元寶湖北省造，錢幣直徑為2.8厘米。錢幣正面鑄有珠圈，珠圈內為「光緒元寶」四字，上環「湖北省造」四字，下鑄幣值「當十」二字。錢幣背面為一幅蟠龍盤繞圖，神龍飛舞圖案，栩栩如生。錢幣製作精細，包漿自然，工藝精湛，雕工完美，浮雕感強烈。龍紋和字體刻畫，游刃有度，非常難得。

3.此組藏品光緒元寶江西省造當十，直徑2.8cm，藏品正面圈內鑄有銘文「光緒元寶」，珠圈外上環鑄楷體「江西省造」四字，底部鑄貨幣價值：「當十」，中心為「光緒元寶」四字，左右兩側為滿文字眼。元寶背面內圈鑄有神龍騰飛圖騰，外圈鑄有英文，品相精緻，其審美風格獨特。（光緒元寶在1898年的時候正式發行，光緒元寶是結合了滿漢文化的產物，因為當時清朝是滿洲人在統治天下，所以光緒元寶也結合了一些滿人的文化因素。）

4. 此組藏品稀世罕見的清江省造光緒元寶： —光緒三十年至三十二年（1904年～1906年），漕督奏准，江蘇省清江浦造，名為（清江銅元局）。清江古名清江浦，屬於淮陰縣轄，位於南運河中段沿岸，是當時南北水運的樞紐。此枚珍品錢幣正面珠圈內為「光緒元寶」四字，外環珠圈，上緣滿文「光緒元寶」，下緣「當制錢十文」，兩側邊緣分列「清江」兩字，背面中央為飛龍圖及珠圈，上緣英文紀地「TSING-KIANG」，下緣英文紀值「TEN CASH」。錢幣正面鮮然可見滿漢文化的融合，而錢背卻明確標示了西方文化的介入。如此小小錢幣，也可管中窺豹，足以代表當時的社會文化之風氣。

5.此組藏品光緒元寶浙江省造當十，直徑2.8cm，正面鑄有銘文，頂部鑄楷體「浙江省造」四字，底部鑄貨幣價值：「當十」，中心直讀「光緒元寶」四字，珠圈外為滿文「光緒元寶」，中心是六瓣花。背面神龍吐珠紋路依舊，如刀刻所成，鑄造工藝神乎其技，且龍身紋路精美，並有雲海襯托，威風凜凜。唯有此幣採用獨特的北魏體鑄成錢文，打破了一個時期以來錢幣書法「千錢一面」的傳統格局。
