There was once a guy who was very much inlove with a girl. This romantic guy folded 1000 pieces of paper cranes as agift to his girl. Although. at that time he was just a small executive in hiscompany, his future didn"t seem too bright, they were happy together. Until oneday. his girl told him she was going to Paris and would never come back. Shealso told him that she can"t visualize any future for the both of them. Sothey"d better go their own ways there and then一heartbroken, the guyagreed.

有個小夥子深愛著一位女孩，這個浪漫的小夥子折了1000隻千紙鶴，把它作為禮物送給女孩子儘管那時他在公司只是一個小頭目，看上去前途並不十分光明，可他們在一起過得很幸福。直到有一天，女孩說她要去巴黎，再也不回來了。她還告訴他，她看不出他們有什麼將來，所以，不如就此分道揚鐮……小夥子雖然悲痛欲絕，但還是同意了。

When he regained his confidence, he workedhard day and night, slogging』his body and mind just to make something out ofhimself. finally with all these hard work and with the help of friends, thisguy set up his own company.

恢複信心後，他夜以繼日地努力工作，不斷地逼迫自己，想在事業上有所建樹。在他的努力下，再加上朋友的幫助，小夥子終於創辦了自己的公司。

"You never foil until you stoptrying," he always told himself," Imust make it in life!"

「如果你失敗了，那是因為你停止努力了，」他常常告誡自己。「我一定要事業有成!」

On a rainy day, while this guy was driving,he saw an elderly couple sharing an umbrella in the rain walking to somedestination. Even with the umbrella, they were still drenched. It didn"t takehim long to realize they were his ex-girlfriend"s parents. With a heart ingetting back at`" them, he drove slowly beside the couple, wanting them to spothim in his luxury sedan, he wanted them to know that he wasn"t the sameanymore, he had his own company, car, condo, etc. He had made it in life.

有個雨天，小夥子開車看到一對年邁的夫妻，共撐著一把傘，向某個目的地走去。儘管有傘，他們還是被雨淋得濕透。沒過多久，他就認出他們是他前女友的父母。他對他們心存報復之心，便在夫妻倆身旁緩緩行駛，想讓他們看到他坐在豪華轎車裡，他想讓他們知道，他和先前大不一樣了，他有自己的公司，轎車和公寓，等等。他事業有成了。

Before the guy can realize, the couple waswalking towards a cemetery, and he got out of his car and followed them... andhe saw his ex-girlfriend, a photograph of her smiling sweetly as ever at himfrom her tombstone... and he saw his precious paper cranes in a bottle placedbeside her tomb.

還沒等小夥子反應過來，夫妻倆朝墓地走去了。他下了車，尾隨著他們……他看到了他的前任女友，墓碑上有她的照片，她像以前一樣沖著他甜甜的笑呢……墓碑旁放著一個瓶子，裡面裝著他珍愛的千紙鶴。

Her parents saw him. He walked over andasked them why this had happened.

她父母看到了他。他走過去，問他們這一切是怎麼回事?

They explained. She did not leave forFrance at all. She was stricken ill with cancer. In her heart, she had believedthat he would make it someday, but she did not want her illness to be hisobstacle. . .

他們解釋道，她根本沒去法國，她得了癌症。在她心中，她堅信他總有一天會事業有成的，可是，她不想讓她的病成為他的累贅……

Therefore she had chosen to leave him.

所以，她選擇離開他。

She asked her parents to leave his papercranes by her side, if one day the destiny brings him here, he could take someback home.

她讓父母把他的千紙鶴放在她的身旁，如果有一天命運指引他再來看她的時候，他可以帶一些紙鶴回去。

The guy just wept. The worst way to misssomeone is to be sitting right beside them but knowing you can"t have them andwill never see them again.

小夥子淚如雨下……最痛苦的事情莫過於你就坐在他們身旁，可你知道你再也無法擁有他們，再也不能相見了。
