心懷慈悲方有大愛
慈悲代表著佛教的根本精神，是佛教弘法利生的出發點。慈從悲來，悲必為慈。正是有了慈悲心，佛陀才不忍世間苦、為眾生解說四聖諦；正是有了慈悲思想，佛教才能為世人所廣泛接受，才能利益有情眾生；正是有了慈悲精神，中國佛教才積極地入世濟民，推動中國慈善文化與民族傳統美德才會流芳千古、代代相傳。心懷慈悲，方有大愛。一個人深刻感受到自身的痛苦，也就能對他人的痛苦感同身受，產生悲情，自然地、由衷地衍生出對他人的情誼，並擴展為對一切眾生的普遍的、平等的慈愛。
Only with loving-kindness and compassion can one have great love
Loving-kindness and compassion represent the fundamental spirit of Buddhism. It is the starting point for Buddhism to disseminate Dharma and benefit sentient beings. Loving-kindness comes from compassion, and compassion surely leads to loving-kindness. It was with loving-kindness and compassion that the Buddha could not bear to see the sufferings in the world, so he explained the Four Noble Truths to all sentient beings. It is with loving-kindness and compassion that Buddhism can be widely accepted all over the world, thus rescue sentient beings. It is precisely with the spirit of loving-kindness and compassion that Chinese Buddhism has actively merged into the secular world and helped the people, which promoted Chinese charity culture and traditional virtues to pass down through the ages from generation to generation. With loving-kindness and compassion in mind, there is a great love. When one deeply feels his own suffering, he can also feel the suffering of others and produce pathos. Naturally and sincerely, he can derive his own friendly feelings to others and expand it into a universal and equal love for all sentient beings.
